I liked Power & Glory. After their victory in the Rockers feud I thought they were going after The Hart Foundation...and I think that was the plan. But when Vince signed the Nastys(at the request of Hogan & Savage) Vince forgot all about Power & Glory. Pity they could at least have had a shot at the big one..... I watched the Hart Foundation RF Video shoot, and Bret and Jim pretty much said that the reason why Power & Glory never got the straps, was because they kept going to Vince and saying, "we need the straps!! Let us beat the Harts for the straps!" So Vince went a different way with them.... and jobbed them out to the LOD in under a minute at Wrestlemania VII. They were never the same after that squash to LOD at WM 7. It's a shame as they had potential to be great heel champs if they were given the opportunity.

They were already hurting with The Nasty Boys being positioned as the 1# heel squad.....but the squash to LOD sealed the deal. Although as an 11 year old LOD nut? I f*ckin LOVED it.......still do!!

Yeah that match was really the rise of LOD and the fall of Power and Glory in the WWF. You look at SSlam that year, LOD won the belts while P&G would lose the opening six man tag match and pretty much be disbanded soon after.

For the short time Power n Glory teamed, they quickly became one of my favorite teams. They had such swagger together. Shame they never got a run at the tag titles.

Power & Glory??? more like Sour & Gory!
Being serious though, I thought they were pretty cool and when they hit their finish just right it was truly pretty spectacular.

As great as they were (and make no mistake....they were) the bloom was kinda off the rose once Ax had to step back, and eventually ,out. Smash and Crush were serviceable ,but the chemistry was not there like it was with Ax on board. So i look at them as being gradually wound down and phased out post Survivor Series 91. They put over LOD and The Rockers....probably the Bushwackers too on their way out to be repackaged for their solo runs. Wheras P and G literally fell off a cliff post Mania 7.

True enough.....plenty of stories about Vince wanting them to drop the facepaint etc and Ax disagreed leading to all sorts of falling out and Demo being reduced to jobbers. Crush was a poor replacement for Ax...no doubt. Man I hated him as a kid.

I was actually hoping they were gonna give Smash some kind of singles run in 91. So when the episode of Superstars ,post Mania 7, announced an Ultimate Warrior vs Smash bout, i thought "hey they're gonna let him be a singles guy! " then the match aired ,and i clearly remembered thinking, we're never going to see him again......" i was pretty happy when Repo Man showed up though. Took me about 1.5 seconds to realize it was Smash........but i would've preferred he just stayed Smash. Lol

Lol None of my friends in school would believe Me Repo was Smash......I had to produce magazines and all sorts to prove it was him using the tattoo etc....LOL

And they said..."No they are different. Krusher Khruschev, Smash, Repo all just got the same tattoo."
