How awesome of a heel was Simon Dean? The gimmick, the theme song, his promos, his attire. I wished WWE would of put more effort into the guy, it's gimmicks like these that I miss. Even if gimmicks like these aren't main event material, it's still very entertaining to watch.

Simon Dean would made a great US champ. Can't believe he never joined Evolution he would of been great.

I miss gimmicks in wrestling. As you said they were entertaining to watch. Yeah me too. They didn't even have to be anything crazy. Just some cool theme music that matched the gimmick also. Like Issac Yankem had the dentist drill theme when he came out, he also dressdlike a dentist. It was cool. Now I feel everyone is the same guy, same type of gear, no originality |

Simon Dean was actually a rib on Dean Malenko, who's real name is Dean Simon.

While Nova says himself he loved it, I always felt it was a negative shot to a guy with such talent in the ring. IMO, the man was a huge innovator relegated to a gimmick I just never understood.

I enjoyed it as a comedy gimmick. I still love watching the SD segment where he takes credit for Batistas physique. Batista comes out, drinks some muscle milk, claims it's working, and then kills Simon. One of the most underrated segments ever.
