What if Hulk Hogan didn't win the title at WMIX? Can the WMIX card be better than it was? Could Bret have held the title longer? Is Lex better off as a Heel? This diary is focused on making the transition work with a different WMIX card. The story begins with Hulk Hogan's return to the WWF in almost a year, but this time he's after someone else...
Note: My apologies to the mods/readers, the "new era" doesn't work for me; barely watched it (find it boring) and I'd only make it worse. This has no relation to any of my previous diaries.

WWF Monday Night RAW February 22nd, 1993 Hosts: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan and Randy SavageClips are shown from last week's vicious attack on Brutus Beefcake. After pinning Ted Dibiase, Dibiase gets desperate and calls out Giant Gonzalez with Harvey Wippleman, who crushes Beefcake's face in after the match. Beefcake is taken out on a stretcher. Vince starts the show announcing that Hulk Hogan will be making his long-awaited return tonight to the WWF. Bam Bam Bigelow def. Scott Taylor via pinfall
The Nasty Boys def. The Beverly Brothers via pinfall_____________________________________ Vince McMahon is in the ring and calls out Hulk Hogan to a huge pop (this actually happened until Jimmy Hart was called out as his manager, however Jimmy Hart will NOT show up here) Vince: Hulk Hogan it has almost been a year since we've last seen you here in the WWF, and I have a pretty good idea why you're back! Hulk: Well you know something Vince McMahon, I saw a good friend of mine Brutus the Barber Beefcake make his successful return only to be squashed by a nasty giant brother. Vince: You are no stranger to giants that's for sure. Hulk: As I sat at home in Venice Beach California, as I watched Monday Night RAW brother, I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that a man like that eight foot tall could even exist and how he assaulted my good friend Brutus Beefcake brother. Rest assured Beefcake will be back better than ever, but I got only one thing on my mind and I've come back to take down the eight foot monster brother. Vince: Wow, are you issuing out a challenge? Hulk: That's right... (suddenly Harvey Wippleman comes out and gets in the ring) Harvey: Look at you Hulkster, you got no business returning to the WWF. In fact I'm the man responsible for getting you out of here in the first place remember Wrestlemania VIII (ie. managed Sid)? That's right you had taken so much damage that I'm the one responsible for ending Hulkamania! You were gone! Me it was all me! Hulk: Let me tell you something Harvey Wippleman, Hulkamania is alive and better than ever. Just look at all these fans out here (camera pans to fans cheering) and so let's make it happen I want to challenge your Giant Gonzalez to a match at Wrestlemania IX brother. Harvey: (laughs) Are you kidding me! No one could stop him, not you, not the Undertaker I mean look at what happened at Superstars (clip shown of the battle royal where WWF Superstars refused to compete because of Gonzalez and he had to leave). They were afraid they were all afraid! Hulk: I've been down that road brother, I've faced Andre the Giant, I've faced the Ugandan Giant, I've faced King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd, the Giants of the WWF brother (Giant Gonzalez walks out slowly as the crowd tries to warn the Hulkster). So whacha gonna do... Hulk rips off his shirt and tosses it behind him only for the Giant to grab it and starts to choke out the Hulkster! Hulk is on his knees. Harvey: I accept your challenge. There is your hero, there is Hulkamania on its knees! Hulk Hogan doesn't stand a chance and this will be the one Giant that finishes you off once and for all at Wrestlemania IX! Hulk tries to fight back he lands a punch, but the Giant lands the chokeslam on the Hulkster! Harvey tells him to save it for Wrestlemania as they leave with Hulkster grasping for some air.__________________________________ Crush def. Terry Taylor via pinfall

Fuji: (walks out with Yokozuna) You will become the worst there ever will be after Wrestlemania. My Yokozuna will crush you. Suddenly Yokozuna attacks Bret in the middle of the ring! Yokozuna clotheslines Bret and drags him to a corner. Yokozuna lands a Bonzai Drop on Bret (Yoko was very careful and wasn't as theatrical as his other drops as he got up fast thereafter)! WWF Officials run in with a stretcher as Bret is unconscious. A big victory as Rick gets in the Frankensteiner finisher on IRS for the pin and win. The "Narcissist" Lex Luger (w/Heenan) def. Bob Backlund via pinfall. Backlund was played off as one of the greatest WWF Champions in history with an almost six year reign. Luger got a clean pin in without using his infamous "steel-plated" elbow. Shawn Michaels (c) (w/Luna) def. Mr. Perfect to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship. A classic match with a passing of the torch feel. Perfect gets in his perfectplex finisher late in the match but did it too quickly with Shawn dropping to the outside. Perfect grabs Shawn up to the apron, but Shawn gets in a sunset flip for the pin and win. Perfect can't believe it as Shawn runs out with the IC title belt and to the back. Randy calls it a steal, though Heenan says that it was clean. ______________________ TO BE CONTINUED...

Wrestlemania IX PART 2 of 2Bret Hart is in the back with Mean Gene. Gene: Bret, two weeks ago you received the bonzai drop from Yokozuna that nearly put you out of business... Bret: Let me tell you something, I'm hurt I admit I'm not 100%, but I definitely want to go up against the 550lbs Yokozuna when he's 100% because that's the only way I can prove that I can hold this title belt from all the greats of the past. This is my defining moment in my career and no one will ever call me a fluke ever again. Gene: I don't believe you are a fluke, but most would say you are the underdog. Bret: After tonight the world will finally realize why I am the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be when I walk away with this title belt around my waist. I'm ready for this one... Gene: Here we go! _____________________________ Bret "the Hitman" Hart (c) vs. Yokozuna (w/Mr. Fuji) for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. The match goes on as it originally did though the difference is most of the match Bret sells his chest from the bonzai drop he recieved two weeks back. Late in the match Bret gets to the second rope and delivers punches, but Yokozuna tosses him down. Bret gets to another corner and rips apart the turnbuckle pad. Yokozuna rushes for an avalanche for Bret to get out of the way. Yokozuna falls flat on his back as Bret goes for the pin to two. Bret flies to the outside from the kickout as Mr. Fuji gets some cheap shots in. Bret is almost counted out till Yokozuna gets him back in the ring and lands an elbow smash. Yokozuna drags Bret for his finisher till Bret moves out of the way. Yokozuna gets back down as Bret struggles to get back up jumping to another corner. Yokozuna grabs Bret and wants to smash him on the exposed turnbuckle, however Bret blocks and elbows Yoko, smashing his head on the exposed turnbuckle. Yoko is dazed and turns around for Bret to land a bulldog from the second rope! Bret gets on the sharpshooter as Yoko is out of it. The referee calls out for Yoko who doesn't tap out. Mr. Fuji tries to distract the referee, but the referee rings the bell even though Yoko doesn't tap out. Winner: Bret "the Hitman" Hart via submission to retain the WWF World Heavyweight ChampionshipBret celebrates his big win with the WWF Championship belt. Mr. Fuji protests that the exposed turnbuckle was used and the referee didn't care, but Bret pissed off at Fuji decides to get the sharpshooter on him as he taps out quickly. _____________________________ Hulk Hogan (w/Brutus Beefcake) vs. Giant Gonzalez (w/Harvey) in Singles competition.Hogan wanted this match to be last in the card and Vince accepted it. Giant Gonzalez gets in the ring. Real American plays and out comes Hogan with Beefcake. Hogan is in the ring and tears his shirt. The bell rings and they stand toe to toe. Randy says that Hogan looks like a "midget" compared to the Giant. Giant raises his hands as Hogan gets in the first few punches. Hogan hits the ropes for a clothesline, but Giant barely moves. Hogan hits the ropes again, but the Giant chokeslams Hogan early on! Hogan is down and rolls out of the ring hurt; regrouping with Beefcake. Hogan finally gets back in and they grapple, but the Giant shoves him to the corner. Hogan looks afraid and in disbelief with the power of the Giant. Gonzalez grabs Hogan's hair and headbutts him as Hogan is on his knees. Gonzalez tries to choke out the Hulkster as the crowd try to chant for Hulk. Hogan starts to Hulk up and breaks the hold, he rakes Giant's eyes and hits the ropes for a clothesline, but the big guy won't go down. Hogan hits the ropes for another clothesline, but the Giant hits a huge punch, grabs Hogan and whips him to a corner. The Giant lifts Hogan up to the top and bodyslams him! Hogan takes a big bump from that, shouting from the impact. The Giant grabs Hogan and goes for another bodyslam and lands it. He stomps on Hogan's head and raises his hands up high to some heat. Harvey shouts for him to finish Hogan off. Hogan drags himself to the ropes as Giant Gonzalez lifts Hogan up but Hogan manages to rake his eyes and land three punches. Hogan whips the big guy to the ropes for a big boot to the chest as the Giant is now wobbly. Hogan quickly gets to the top rope for a big double axe handle as the Giant finally falls! Hogan gets the crowd riled up and signals for a bodyslam. Hogan tries to get his hands over the Giant, but the Giant starts to smash his back. Hogan is hurt as the Giant goes for another chokeslam only for Hogan to break it. He starts pounding on the Giant. He hits the ropes for a leaping clothesline and they both fall to the mat. The Giant tries to get up. Hogan starts pounding on the Giant who is on his knees, however the Giant chokes Hogan and drops him to the outside. Harvey tries to get a few cheap shots in as Beefcake chases him with a chair. The Giant is on the outside as he goes for another chokeslam but this time on the concrete. From behind Beefcake smashes the Giant with a chair! The Giant feels it and goes after Beefcake. Hogan jumps the Giant's back as he lands into the post! Hogan gets back into the ring. Harvey tries to get Beefcake's chair as Beefcake swings it towards him. Meanwhile the Giant makes it back in at the nine count. Hogan gets in the three punch, but the Giant reverses and irish whip and lands his own big boot. Harvey is running around the ring till he rushes in and the referee tries to get to him. Beefcake runs in with the chair and smashes Gonzalez in the head with the chair! Hogan is up and notices the Giant down, he its the ropes for the big leg for the one two three. Winner: Hulk Hogan via pinfallHogan celebrates with Beefcake to close off his ninth Wrestlemania (WM4 he still showed up with Randy so technically closed it off) posing for the fans.

Monday Night RAW May 10th, 1993 Hosts: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan and Randy Savage
King of the Ring PPV is announced and heavily promoted for June 13th. Vince recognizes on TV the last KOTR event (held in 1991) where Bret "the Hitman" Hart won the tournament. Vince ignores other previous events and says that Bret was the "first" KOTR. But now that he is the WWF Champion, one man one must take his place. After their discussion, Vince turns to an interview with Shawn Michaels with Lord Alfred Hayes before RAW went on air. Shawn is talking to Alfred about how Jim Duggan is a loser just like Mr. Perfect who lost at Wrestlemania. Mr. Perfect is in the crowd around him and after hearing it attacks Shawn. They both fight it out, destroying Howard Finkel's car in the process. KOTR Qualifying Match: Mr. Hughes def. Kamala via Countout. Mr. Hughes enters the KOTR Quarter Finals. Shawn Michaels (c) def. Jim Duggan via pinfall to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Shawn played an injury at the beginning of the match, coming in with crutches and it looked like the match wouldn't happen though Shawn tells the ref he wants to go on. Duggan took on the offensive early on, only for Shawn to use one of his crutches on the outside to strike at Duggan when the referee was knocked out and getting the pinfall over Duggan. Yokozuna (w/Mr. Fuji) def. P.J Walker via pinfall. A squash match for Yoko as Fuji gets on the mic with Randy Savage in the middle of the ring and says the WWF is unfair to Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji. They have made the appeal about what transpired at Wrestlemania, but Jack Tunney has refused to listen. They said the only way they can teach Jack Tunney a lesson is to destroy the WWF's most famous wrestler. Randy asks who that is and Fuji says he'll issue out the challenge soon. Bam Bam Bigelow def. Tatanka via pinfall. Bam Bam is on a rampage in the match and managed to get in his Diving headbutt finisher for the pin and win over the "undefeated" Tatanka. Vince gets in with the mic to talk to Bigelow. Vince: I have to say Mr. Bigelow you have done what no one thought could be done. Tatanka was undefeated for nearly two and a half years here in the World Wrestling Federation... Bigelow: What did you just say? Who is the fool that thinks it couldn't have been done? I defeated Tatanka, I pinned him and he'll never be the same again and I'll take on anyone at any time in fact I think it's time for me to reach to the top. That's right Bret Hart are you listening? Vince: Wait just a minute, are you challenging... Bigelow: I want the WWF Championship belt around my waist, you've held that title too long Bret. Ha Bret thinks he's the best, well Bam Bam bodyslam I'm ready for you any time any place Hitman...

Bob Backlund via pinfall. Lex Luger enters the Quarterfinals. Shawn Micheals is out with the IC title belt and gets on the mic. Shawn: I've come out here tonight because the heartbreak kid is sick and tired of haaaaa--saw Jim Duggan and Mr. Perfect. Perfect I've beaten you at Wrestlemania. You want another title shot well I ain't gonna give it to ya. Instead I'm going to do something that hasn't been done in a long time, I'm going to do an open challenge right here on Monday Night RAW. Vince: Wow! Randy: You seem pretty cocky there Shawn are you sure you want this? Shawn: (looks at Randy and shakes his head) I'll take on anyone in the back, yes anyone in the back right now and defend my Intercontinental Championship belt. So come on gimme anyone! Suddenly Marty Jannetty rushes into the ring. Shawn is in total disbelief as Marty starts on the offensive. Shawn Michaels (c) vs. Marty Jannetty for the WWF Intercontinental ChampionshipThe bell rings and the match is in Marty's favour. Later on, Mr. Perfect and Jim Duggan are on the outside watching. They get cheap shots in on Shawn as Shawn struggles to keep up against Marty. Marty lands a superkick for the pinfall, but Shawn rolls out hurt. Trying to get a countout win, Perfect and Duggan land a few kicks and toss Shawn in. Shawn is begging for mercy as the referee kicks out Perfect and Duggan from ringside. Vince is in the ring and WWF Champion Bret Hart makes his way out for an interview. Vince: Bret Hart a few weeks back, Bam Bam Bigelow who ended Tatanka's undefeated streak here in the World Wrestling Federation has issued out a challenge to you for the WWF Championship. We would like to know what is your response? Bret: Let me tell you something Bam Bam Bigelow, this won't be the first time I'd have to pound on some big bully. Let me explain something to you Bam Bam, when you step in the ring with the excellence of execution, you'd better be at your best. So you want to challenge me for the WWF Championship? You got it, heck I'm even ready right now, anytime Bigelow. Bam Bam Bigelow walks out, this time with Luna Vachon. Bigelow: Ha you sure you want to take me on? You're lucky I got a match coming up tonight because I'd sure love to take you on for the title right now. Bret: (laughs) I'm ready, I'm ready now. Bigelow: O we'll have our match, but not on your terms... Bret: Or maybe you're just chicken? Suddenly Bigelow goes after Bret, Bret strikes back and it's an all out brawl. Randy says he's had enough of Bigelow's hothead and gets in the ring to stop the brawl. Bigelow shoves the Macho Man as Macho jumps him and starts landing a few punches with Bret landing kicks. He rolls on out pointing fingers at Bret and Randy. Bigelow leaves ringside. KOTR Qualifying Round: Jim Duggan def. Papa Shango via pinfall. Duggan is now in the Quarterfinals. Vince: Welcome back Hulk Hogan the world wants to know will you take on Yokozuna at the King of the Ring? Hulk: Well you know something brother, for far too long as Mr. Fuji caused terror in the eyes of all these Hulkamaniacs. Whether it's his salt or green mist or cheating ways, Hulkamania has always prevailed over him. I've beaten bigger men than Yokozuna, I've slammed the 500+ lbs legendary Andre the Giant. So I wanted to say yes I accept the challenge against Yokozuna.... Fuji: (walks out with Yokozuna) You have made a grave mistake Hulk Hogan (laughs)! A grave mistake in fact now that you've accepted a challenge, I want you to try to slam my Yokozuna. Hulk: What? (looks at the crowd) Fuji: Yes slam him, you talk about how great your career is. How could can slam anyone, well try and slam my 550lb Yokozuna! Go right ahead! Hulk Hogan looks at the fans and they all agree to take it on as Vince leaves the ring. Hulk goes for the bodyslam, but can't do it. Yokozuna strikes his back and pushes him. Hulk is in disbelief as he tries it for a second time and isn't able to do it as Yokozuna strikes Hulk's back again and at ease tosses him over the top rope! Fuji: (laughs) I told you so! You can't do it! You're a shadow of your old self Hulk Hogan and at King of the Ring this is who you're facing! (laughs) Hulk Hogan is in total disbelief as he walks to the back disappointed. ______________________________________ King of the Ring Report: The Steiner Brothers (c) vs. The Smoking Gunns for the WWF World Tag Team Championships
