If I recall this was his only appearance in the WWF as Vince Sr. wanted nothing to do with that form of entertainment in his wrestling company. you can bet if Vince Jr. was running it then Kaufman would've been hired in a second.

Kauffman would have been the WWF Women's Champion in a second if VKM was in charge.

As interesting as it could have been, I'm glad he never worked for the McMahons.
What made his run in Memphis so great was Big City Yankee running down the country bumpkins. He couldn't have done that in New York. And while I think he could have come up with something else as good, I just don't think that crowd would have bought it as much.
And it certainly never would have been a main event program.
And I don't think Vince would have given him the women's title. Not in the early 80s at least. While he was showing more of the Entertainment influence, the wrestling itself was still generally being taken seriously at the time.

To add to this, Andy Kaufman was a celebrity who treated the wrestling industry seriously. While Kaufman was before my time, I realize the impact he had. With the stuff Kaufman did with Jerry Lawler, it made Lawler a household name. If Kaufman did what he did in New York, he wouldn't been able to generate the head he had while in Memphis.

I don't think it would if worked. People would of known 100% That it was all a gimmick and joke if he was in WWF. The thing that made it more believable is Memphis. People were wondering why Memphis and not WWF?

Kaufman should've been the 1st person inducted into Celebrity wing of the HOF. It's a travesty he's still not in.
