I know this isn't really a classic post, but it deals with classic content, so I thought I would put it here.
Why is it that Billy Gunn is allowed to use the name "Billy Gunn" while working for NJPW but when he was in TNA years ago he had to be Kip James??
I honestly figured that he would have to go back to being Kip James when he got fired from the WWE a year or so ago. So last night when I seen him on the NJPW special on the Fight Network, I was shocked to see he is still going by the name Billy Gunn.

"Billy Gunn" was a WWE trademark when he was first fired and went to TNA but maybe when he came back to the WWE he was given the rights or something.

Can wrestlers buy their trademarks from WWE?
Also Billy Gunn is still in the video games so he must have some involvment in WWE.
