I mean face it, as much as the internet has made being a wrestling fan awesome, with all these streaming services and opening the door for us to watch and explore wrestling, it also has brought upon an entitled attitude that complains about a lot.
So if the internet existed say from the 90s on back, what would fans complain about?

Hogan's in ring work. Andre being too slow and sloppy. Dibiase, Perfect and Piper not being World champions. The Undertaker being the biggest joke ever and a gimmick that will instantly fail. The Ultimate Warrior being an awful worker. Shawn Michaels not having a serious enough gimmick. Dustin Rhodes looking like an idiot with the Goldust gimmick. The much loved Cactus Jack being repackaged with some cheesy Mankind character. Demolition being rip off's of the Road Warriors.
I'm sure there is more but it's really a good thing that the internet didn't exist back then.

When a wrestler lost a match in 80s/90s they lost. When a wrestler loses a match now - "Insiders report (wrestlers name) is being punished for (insert backstage incident)"
Also on a similar note, when I watched Spiderman in 2002 I was in awe of what I was witnessing and excited for what a sequel might hold. Now that there is a MARVEL MADE Spiderman movie coming out tomorrow all i see is MARVEL SUKS DC RULZ and ANOTHER REBOOT DIS SUCKS I MISS GARFIELD or THIS IS IRON MAN 4 DISNEY RUIN SPODERMAN BLAH BLAH.
We've become cold and cynical.

That is a tough one, because back in the 80s before there was the ".com" craze as Paul Ellering would tell us in 1998, the wrestling fans were more accepting of things. Fans legit cheered on George Steele for being a moron. Fans hated The Hart Foundation and Danny Davis. Maybe the only complaint would be why certain guys didn't win titles back then. Like I could see people being upset that Andre didn't beat Hogan at III, or that Orndorff didn't beat Hogan at The Big Event, but then so many people were Hogan fans back then, that maybe not a lot would have cared??

hogan in the 80s would probably be treated even worse than cena is by the crowd since his exploits of screwing with ppl's careers would be out in the open.
the macho man/hulk hogan elizabeth fiasco would have been x100 bigger than matt hardy/edge cheating with lita was

Kayfabe was still alive then so it'd be really interesting I was just about to add this. Even if the internet was in play in the early 90s for fans let's say, are we assuming kayfabe was dead? I think kayfabe would have still been very much alive. If that's the case, then the complaints really wouldn't be about pushes or burials; it would have been more likely to be about "why my favourite wrestler deserves to be champion." On another note, I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was to find out decades later that "Liz Hunter" didn't really exist as a journalist for those Apter magazines. I used to think how cool (and hot) this woman must be to love this sport like I do. Ohhh kayfabe.

So if the internet existed say from the 90s on back, what would fans complain about? The exact same things I complained about with my friends when wrestling became cool again in the 90s and with my parents in the years that predated it. You think the creation of the Internet created complaints? People were complaining about storylines and who was heavily featured on a routine basis. I remember telling my friends about how this whole thing has dragged on long enough with Sting and Hogan. They need to fight already. I remember telling my friends how stupid it was for a pig farmer to be wrestling. I remember complaining about how Alex Wright went from undefeated to a huge losing stream and how he needed to do something about it. It's only now that we're complaining about pushes because we're older and able to tell the difference between fact and fiction. No one over the age of 10 today believes a convict is able to get work release just to wrestle. So no one would be complaining about that.

Hogan
I hated him as a kid. I hated the hulking up, and never losing to Randy.
I hated when he stole Bret Hart's thunder at WrestleMania.
I always found him detestable

Think about this. Mick Foley winning the WWE Championship was on a taped edition of RAW and WCW tried to spoil it but it backfired on them. (I know, we've all seen the Monday Night Wars specials) So imagine if we had the spoiler links back then... And the technology of DVR that we have now (Though I'd tape Nitro onto VHS tapes on the replay and watch RAW), but I mean, the Monday Night Wars could have been vastly different. A lot of surprises for both promotions would have been likely leaked and fans would have complained much like they do now with WWE and GFW/TNA.

If you look around hard enough, you can find old forums and websites with people bitching about the Attitude Era and early Ruthless Aggression era. Stuff that I loved as a kid, but adults back then seemed to just loathe everything about the product. The more things change...

I remember on here I think someone showed an old forum thread from 2000 and it was nothing but WWE bashing and people were even claiming that WCW was better lol.

Stuff that I loved as a kid, but adults back then seemed to just loathe everything about the product. The more things change... I can't remember what forum I was looking at but I was reading a lot of 2000/2001 threads a few weeks ago to see what people were saying. Big Show (or Paul Wight as he was called 90% of the time in these threads) wasn't over with the IWC at all, and Rikishi was SUPER over. Then everyone hated it when Rikishi was revealed as Austin's attacker. I also read a thread about how at Summerslam 2000 Glenn Jacobs "stopped being Kane" because "this new Kane shows his arms and doesn't have a tattoo like the original".... lol. Something cool I did learn about was that in December 1999, Kane and Godfather teamed up in a Tag match against Taker and Viscera at some Puerto Rican House Show. This was when Taker was still away from the ring and yet to return as the American Badass which is interesting. The thread had pictures too.
