So I was sitting thinking about this. Edge cashed in on Taker in May 2007, due to Taker and Kenedy's injuries. Following this was Taker and Edge at WrestleMania 24 a long term storyline? I know it was by November to bring Edge back in that manner. But what was going to be the plan with Edge's first title reign that year? Edge was going to face Kane at GAB, I would assume Edge would go over. Would Batista find some loophole to challenge Edge for the World Title? How long would this reign have been and would this alter WrestleMania 24?

2007 was a miserable year for pro wrestling. The injuries, the real-life tragedies, the bad storylines. Just going to leave it at that.

I would think Edge would have lost the belt to Batista at SummerSlam.

I hated 2007 but I will say that Edge was the highlight of that horrible year. He was the main reason why I tuned in every week.

Benoit tragedy aside, I honestly didn't mind 2007 and felt like there was a lot of good stuff at the time as it happened. I was 15 in 2007 and while even back then, I knew it was nothing compared to the good old days, I didn't feel that it was all that bad.
It's not an era I'd ever want to go back to though.

The End of 2007 was entertaining as well as everything up to around Judgment Day was real good. The Summer of 07 is the deal breaker. Although I will say I did really like Great American 2007. WrestleMania 23 was a gem. The Batista - Undertaker feud then tied into Edge/Undertaker was executed great. As well as the foundation of John Morrison and The Miz's paring. The MVP/Matt Hardy feud was real good. Randy Orton transforming into the Viper gimmick (Which now is stale garbage imo) was done very well with The Age Of Orton. Cena's title reign wasn't as bad as they say. I mean I would of loved to see HBK get a run from the end of Spring to early Fall. But Shawn went on record saying he didn't want a run. So who else, Orton? Really wouldn't change history to much. And who would Orton feud with being a heel? I mean if Mr. Kennedy didn't get taken out, I guess he could of cashed in on Cena. But I don't find that very natural or good idea in 07 honestly.
The Cm Punk/Morrison program was meh but it enhanced new guys. Although I feel like ECW in 2007 could of had some really enjoyable continent with Beniot on it.
2007 was the transformation where the late 4 stars Ruthless Aggression Stars (Batista, Edge, Orton, Cena) ran rough shot but other prominent faces of the PG Era were being made.

Jericho also in 2008 can be tied in my book. I never liked Edge being a face honestly. It's just not natural in his character.

It's hard to see anyone on the roster taking the title from Edge in 2007 besides Batista or Taker had Edge not gotten injured. However, with the storyline that Batista couldn't get another title shot and Taker out with injuries, perhaps Rey Mysterio would have gotten a quick title reign before dropping it to someone like Khali or Batista.
Maybe they blow Taker/Edge that fall or winter, leading to a Taker/Batista rematch at WM.

2007 had some serious lows, but don't sleep on the highs. Undertaker vs Batista was amazing, talk about all out brawls, great intensity in those matches.
We got the hour long HBK vs Cena match
The punt kick was fresh and awesome
Edge was spectacular as usual
And we got some great stuff out of Jeff Hardy.

2007 WHC scene belonged to Taker/Edge/Batista and no one else really fit in except for maybe Orton.

I feel like Edge/Taker was the organic route to take. Taker coming back feuding with Batista then dragging Edge in felt so natural.
