I honestly don't know what to do with Bayley, part of me thinks she's already peaked. I wouldn't say turn her heel, I just don't think its in her to pull it off. But her character is just stale, and her feud with Alexa made her booked to look like a chump.
Its interesting to think that really none of the Four Horsewomen are really doing well in mid 2017. Charlotte and Becky are playing second fiddle to the likes of Naomi, Carmella, and currently Natalya, while Bayley and Sasha are downplayed for Alexa and Nia on Raw.

I legit still dont understand her gimmick and what she is suppose to be. Is she a grown adult trying to play a little kid? Is she special needs like Eugene? Does she have social anxiety problem that she is portraying in her awkward promos? What is she? We've seen that "this is my life" segment where they portrayed her as a virgin who's never had a bf in her life. WWE has completely mishandled her main roster transaction. I'm surprised people still don't get the gimmick. She started out as a starstruck fan in NXT. She'd be in awe of other wrestlers and was just happy to be there. She evolved into a big time performer and was the key to the women's division in NXT in late 2015. The fans clung to her like nobody else. However, they've completely fumbled her on the main roster. Yes, her promos haven't been good, but that didn't stop the pushes of other women (I'm looking at you, Charlotte). They had her come up and do a whole lot of nothing, with no direction. They built up Charlotte's undefeated PPV record, only to have her drop the title on Raw to Bayley. Then Bayley ended her PPV streak in lackluster fashion. It killed all the interest. She's someone who is best at the chase, but they ruined that.

Things went downhill for her after her Kendo Stick match against Alexa Bliss. It was stupid not to actually hit Bliss with the Kendo Stick. I don't hate Bayley more than I hate Botch Banks though, I'll take Bayley over her any day. At least Bayley can actually wrestle.

Bayley won the title wayyy too fast and has peaked. She won the title only a few months after her debut (and she debuted months after the draft). I think the fans are already tired of the character - weak, annoying, and immature. She doesn't have the mic skills to sound anything more than that.

Bayley works on a small smark scale like NXT. Her schtick just isn't good enough for prime time. F opinions, this is flat out wrong.

Bayley works on a small smark scale like NXT. Her schtick just isn't good enough for prime time. This 100 times over. The laundry list is long with NXT talent that were hugely over in the small pond but once they've jumped into the ocean, they simply havent gotten to where they could be. Bayley is absolutely one of those names. People can say she should be a marketing machine all they want but guys are not running to the merch stand to buy purple "Im a hugger shirts"...Adult females, most of which watch for the male body, are not rushing to the merch stands to buy purple "Im a hugger shirts"....If anyone is going to be rushing to the merch stands for them is going to be young females which realistically is the smallest percentage of the crowd. Does she have a fan base? Sure...but is it large? Is she a merch machine? Absolutely not. Sasha Banks & Alexa have shown they're the girls that are selling the merch and you can see it in the crowds. It is and never will be at any point a question of her in ring ability. She's easily hands down one of the 5 best in ring female workers in the company. However ring work gets you nowhere if you cant connect with the crowd. Its not "booking" either. The only thing writers can do is change up her gimmick. They booked her perfect fine in her run up to challenge Alexa and people still simply did not care. As I said in the previous Bayley discussion thread. She's not connecting with the crowd and until she does, she will continue to flounder.

Agreed, I think longterm, the Becky's, Alexa's, and (eventually) Lana's will have longterm success, and of course Charlotte by virtue of her name.

The reason Bayley isnt as over on the main roster is because you are dealing with two different type of crowds. A WWE crowd is made up with the bulk of sheep. Bayley is outside the norm of what they expect to see on Raw or SD. NXT is made up with the bulk of smart marks. They will cling to anyone that busts their ass like Bayley has. In NXT, we see the maturation of Bayley. She grew from "the fan" to the "fan now wrestling in NXT". It was easy for the crowd to associate themselves with her. On the main roster, she had no story coming in. All we knew was she was Sasha's friend and she kept hugging strange people. The sheep arent watching NXT.

It really shocked me to hear an entire audience boo her, especially given the nature of her promo. That was completely unexpected.

She needs to drop the whole hugging thing. She can still be the wrestling fangirl who made it big, but man, drop all that hugging crap. You're not 5 years old.

My father beat me up instead of hugging me. Okay, that isn't true, but he has hugged me like, 3 times that I can remember. I don't like hugs. Too... Close. A handshake works.

That's why bland, Bayley should not be given a live mic. Ever. She's just not a talker. Glad that those fans let her have it, and people are finally waking up to her dull, boring, mediocrity. Makes that utterly ridiculous, cringeworthy, creepy post-filled, "appreciation" thread that was going on here, look even more of a joke now. Sorry but there is a time and a place to do something and Raw was neither of the two. If someone suffers a misfortune you don't kick them while their down and rub salt in the wound. That's what those fans did on Bayley.

She's not connecting with the crowd and until she does, she will continue to flounder. I have to disagree with what I have highlighted. First off is there any proof that Sasha and Alexa are outselling Bayley? From what I have seen there are many kids that wear Bayley merch and even during her entrances there are many hugger section signs. Bayley could and should be a merch machine because fans love colourful gear and look at Cena there is a reason why he had wore flashy shirts for over a decade. Also I don't understand who she hasn't been connecting with crowds. Before Raw she was getting loud reactions and even during her match with Sasha the audience were 50/50 so if Bayley wasn't connecting then they would've been 100% Sasha. I was at a UK show back in May and a large section of the crowd where singing the Bayley song so if she's really failing to connect then waste their breath? You could say that people only cheer Nakamura because of his entrance and Balor because of the Demon but does that they're connected with the fans? If people are willing to sit and cheer someone aswell as wear their merchandise then surely that means the connection has been made.

I'm not a big fan of her Hugger gimmick or her in general, but she's had some memorable matches that I won't devalue.
Injury could be a long term blessing in disguise as they could utilize a directional turn in character or a comeback story. Although the writers probably won't do either.

Wasn't the rumor that they were going to make her some autistic virgin who was obsessed with Corey Graves? What happened to that?

I love Bayley but she definitely needs to find a comfort zone in her promos. I think a lot of the problems she has, and others as well, is that they are too scripted for them. They don't teach these people to improvise anymore. Her character has definitely been mishandled. But it's nothing a little time off and some tweaking can't fix.
