If Sting had decided to go to the WWE, what year should have he gone in?

I say 2001. I wouldn't have debuted him until 2002 tho. Probably the night after Mania 18.

I am gonna say never.
Seeing how the WWE treated him in his 2015 run was a disaster. I know Sting was older then, but still, they should have treated him a bit better than what they did.

2001 would've been a disaster and looking at how Booker and DDP were treated I dread to imagine how they would've handled Sting.
I believe around 2006 would have been a better time for him.

Easily 1990. Sting would have been the 2nd biggest face in the company (nobody is simply passing Hogan). '93 might have worked but Id be afraid they would have gimmicked him up. At no point would the crow look have worked IMO because he would have always been like 6th fiddle behind guys like Austin, Rock, Bret, HBK and Triple H

Most of those pics don't correspond with the dates you listed.
That said,I would have had him come in in 91.

I'm going to say 93. By that point he was already a huge star and he accomplished all there was to do in the NWA. He would have been the predecessor for Hogan Vince was always looking for.
Imagine this... Yoko on the USS Intrepid for the body slam challenge. The whole WWE roster (besides the Narcissist & Bret) try and fail. The show is about to be over. Fuji cuts a promo mocking the WWE. Helicopter flies in and instead of Luger, Sting gets out wearing his Great American Bash red, white, and blue attire. Stare down between the two. They exchange a few words. Sting gives his trademark scream and then slams Yoko. The place goes even more nuts than it did for Luger because Sting has a built in fan base.
Sting goes into SummerSlam that year and defeats Yoko. Then Sting starts a program with the Narcissist going into the Rumble. Bret wins the Rumble (by himself). Bret vs Sting at Wrestlemania X.

Never is my answer as well. If he had jumped ship in the 90s, WCW mightve went out of business that decade instead of 2001. But the WWF/E wouldve $#!+ on him no matter when he went over there.

Out of those dates I chose 2011. I started watching wrestling in 2001 and know he would've been horribly treated during the Invasion. 2003 seemed to be the year Triple H went over WCW (Scott Steiner, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Goldberg) for missing the WWF vs. Alliance storyline. 2011 was the last believable time I thought Undertaker vs. Sting could've happened. His eventual WWE run could've been so special but the loss at WrestleMania 31 sh*t all over it IMO.

Sting was a center piece/Flagship for WCW in the early 90s. I think that if WCW management could push Stong that well WWF would have done an even better job. I think that the earlier Stong would have been in WWF the more of a household name he would have been. The Ultimate Warrior is a widely known wrestler, I think, mostly because of how well WWf promoted him. Warrior has never been touted by his peers as being the best in ring wrestler but Sting has received praise from his peers. So I think that the earlier Sting would have been in wwf the better it would have been for him.

2011 was probably the best time to have jumped to WWE. He had the chance to face Undertaker at WM, but instead he waited and faced Triple H of all people.

I would've liked to see him debut the night after WrestleMania 17 if Austin hadn't turned heel, I would've liked to have seen Austin cut a promo saying that he respects The Rock and now he is the WWF Champion and can't no one stop him. Then lights go out, Sting appears and attacks Austin and hits Austin with the WWF Title Belt. You see he would have been the first defector in WCW.

He should have joined in 2001 but he held out and waited until 2002 to join TNA

The thing is, people make comments about how WWE treated Sting when he did finally join. I honestly don't see what the problem was. WWE gave him a high profiled match at WM. A great DVD career retrospective. A HOF induction. Sounds to me like WWE gave Sting everything he had asked for.
Remember Sting only signed on for a short term deal so he could get his WM moment. And he has often said he wanted to go out on his back since that was the tradition. So that loss at WM meant nothing to him. He always intended on losing that match no matter if it was Taker, Triple H, or anyone else. He was just happy to be involved. Plus he was booked to look great in that match too. Triple H needed interference and a sledgehammer to keep Sting down.
As for the Rollins feud, that was just a cherry on top. It was never in the plans. I'm not sure if it was the hype Sting got, the impression he left on Triple H, Rollins begging, or even his merchandise sales. Maybe a lil of each? But WWE brought Sting back and moved him straight to the top of the card. Shame he got hurt because who knows how long he could have stuck around.

If I had to pick a year it'd be 2002 after all that invasion nonsense ended. But in all honesty I never wanted Sting in WWF/E as I always felt Vince would've buried em in the long run.

Earlier than '97 and we never would have seen Crow Sting, later than 1999 and he would have been treated like shite.
Looking at how WWE treated guys they pinched from WCW during the war (Jericho, Big Show, Radicals), he would have been treated well so Vince could make money off him to spite WCW. Following the acquisition any and all WCW alumni were treated like shite. Prior to the war he would have been sent on his way when they moved past the cartoon gimmicks of which he was typical as the Surfer.

Sting jumping in 99 would have made more sense because if he had then WCW would have definitely have lost steam with their biggest star the Franchise jumping ship to WWE he could have had programs with Taker, HHH, Austin, Kane, Rock, Big Show, Jericho, etc. and in his Crow gimmick he would be the perfect supernatural counterpart to Kane and Taker who was practically the American Bad Ass at that point

Sting in the early 90s during the Golden Era like during 93-95 during the New Generation...Sting as Surfer Sting as Red, White and Blue Sting I could see him in feuds with Bret, Luger, HBK, Taker, Yoko, etc.
