Sting in 2001 wouldn't feel right. Sure, a Invasion angle. But what of after. 2011 would of been the best time. Undertaker could still preform great in 2011. Undertaker until the SmackDown match in 2013 with Dean Ambrose preformed great.

I'd say 1993, he would have jumped right over Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in the New Generation. He was just the most charismatic and appealing of the 3. He might have gone on to own the WWF in the 1990s, changing the course of everything.

It's interesting to think about. Sting is my all time favorite but it's hard to imagine him joining in any of those years and not get lost in the shuffle like every WCW star. It all depends how Vince viewed him.
I think the best time, like others have said was 1993-1994. It was a rough time after Hogan left with Vince looking for his next guy. I think Sting could have been that guy. He fits everything Vince likes. It was just a matter of whether Vince would have rather give him the rocket or bury him. I guess if he was willing to give Luger a shot than its easy to imagine Sting would have gotten a shot. But Vince can feel one way about someone one day then the next day he can be over it.
Sting jumping ship would have changed the course of wrestling and it wouldn't be as we know it today. That's what makes the thought of it so fascinating

I am pretty sure Vince always liked Sting so I feel it would have been different for Sting had he joined the WWE opposed to any other WCW wrestler.

Ideally I would want 1999, but since that wasn't an option, I'd say 97. Considering how wcw blew the biggest angle they ever had, I would rather sting just jump.

The thing is, people make comments about how WWE treated Sting when he did finally join. I honestly don't see what the problem was. WWE gave him a high profiled match at WM. A great DVD career retrospective. A HOF induction. Sounds to me like WWE gave Sting everything he had asked for. Remember Sting only signed on for a short term deal so he could get his WM moment. And he has often said he wanted to go out on his back since that was the tradition. So that loss at WM meant nothing to him. He always intended on losing that match no matter if it was Taker, Triple H, or anyone else. He was just happy to be involved. Plus he was booked to look great in that match too. Triple H needed interference and a sledgehammer to keep Sting down. As for the Rollins feud, that was just a cherry on top. It was never in the plans. I'm not sure if it was the hype Sting got, the impression he left on Triple H, Rollins begging, or even his merchandise sales. Maybe a lil of each? But WWE brought Sting back and moved him straight to the top of the card. Shame he got hurt because who knows how long he could have stuck around. People put too much value in wins and losses at times. They can't get over the fact how crazy that match was and how it took a sledgehammer to beat him.

Not an option, but 98. After that Starcade bullsh**, he should have looked for a way out. Could have easily helped Austin against the Corporation, Ministry, and Corporate Ministry.

2011 for me.
I don't think WWE would be able to book him properly as anything more than a part-timer. Not that they booked him well in his recent WWE run but it would be hard to screw up Taker/Sting in 2011

IMO, either 1993 or 2001-2003 would have been the perfect time for Sting to come in to WWE

Vince and the rest of the WWF crew had high marks and respect for Sting. It would not have mattered when he came in because they would have made a big deal out of him. The WWF writers rewrote the last Nitro to have Sting and Flair go on last. I would say later in his career but earlier than what he actually did. I don't even know what year it was he came in for his cup of coffee with them. I would say some time after 2004 because I want Taker Vs Sting, but I don't want the American Redneck Taker vs Sting, I want The Undertaker Vs Sting.

Sting jumping in 99 would have made more sense because if he had then WCW would have definitely have lost steam with their biggest star the Franchise jumping ship to WWE he could have had programs with Taker, HHH, Austin, Kane, Rock, Big Show, Jericho, etc. and in his Crow gimmick he would be the perfect supernatural counterpart to Kane and Taker who was practically the American Bad Ass at that point 99 would have been ideal. he could have been the 'higher power' and instantly been a top heel. tag him with taker, feud him with austin/kane/foley and then eventually a feud with taker himself.

I'm going to say 93. By that point he was already a huge star and he accomplished all there was to do in the NWA. He would have been the predecessor for Hogan Vince was always looking for. Imagine this... Yoko on the USS Intrepid for the body slam challenge. The whole WWE roster (besides the Narcissist & Bret) try and fail. The show is about to be over. Fuji cuts a promo mocking the WWE. Helicopter flies in and instead of Luger, Sting gets out wearing his Great American Bash red, white, and blue attire. Stare down between the two. They exchange a few words. Sting gives his trademark scream and then slams Yoko. The place goes even more nuts than it did for Luger because Sting has a built in fan base. Sting goes into SummerSlam that year and defeats Yoko. Then Sting starts a program with the Narcissist going into the Rumble. Bret wins the Rumble (by himself). Bret vs Sting at Wrestlemania X. This would have been amazing!

Technically speaking Sting did work for WWF in 2001 on the last episode of Monday Night Nitro after WWF bought WCW

While 2001 would have been interesting for sure, I still feel like he would have been treated poorly at the time seeing how they treated guys like DDP during the Invasion. While not available in the poll, for some reason I feel like 2005/2006 would have been an ideal time for him to come into WWE. If I recall he was just going back to TNA and he was in great shape. He would have gotten at least 2-3+ years pending things went well plus as 2006 rolled around I think WWE could have benefitted from having Sting on Raw/Smackdown to feud with guys like Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, Batista, and Orton. We would have gotten some pretty cool dream matches there.
