So I've been collecting long enough to see plenty of cut open packages and stolen accessories, titles, and BAF pieces but this one is a whole new level. Someone literally cut open the package and took the entire Mankind figure! (Although, they missed the little pieces in the corner. What are those anyway?) Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Can't see the picture but I'm sure what you are talking about is his hair pieces.

Cut open the package? Have seen some that looked like they tried to rip the box in half to steal an accessory.

Not sure why the pic won't show up but yah. They definitely used a blade to make a giant three sided cut in the plastic, pulled it open and plucked the figure out.

I think I know what you mean. I've seen someone use an xacto knife to cut out belts and such before.

Wow. Pathetic. Figure is worthless without the hair pieces anyway. And it still has an unpainted mouth

A small step for Mankind, a giant leap backwards for civilization.

Now when someone steals an entire figure, when or how does the store realize this and update the inventory accourdingly? Do they do inventory periodically? I ask because I'm looking for retros and check my Walmart at least 5 times a week and know exactly what they have compared to brickseek's inventory numbers. And they are short 3 figures compared to what it says they have. I'm sure they don't know and don't care, I'm just worried that this stuff could eventually cause them to not restock since the system still things they have some or a greater quantity than what's really there.

And now your fingerprints are all over that box. Do they have internet in prison?... It's Walmart. The box probably got hundreds of fingerprints and 4 types of bodily fluids on it.

I was going to pass on that Mankind because of the mouth, but one of the stores near me had elites marked down to $7 so I had to pick it up.

I've seen figures stolen before. Not often but once in a blue moon. I did once see the Last Eve Torres figure at walmart once. I went to buy it to trade here and it was stolen out of the package

I'm sure it differs depending on the store, but at the ToysRUs I'm at - a manager would have to manually update the stock in the system if something is stolen. So, another employee or someone else would have to find the empty box or whatever and then let a manager know. It definitely hurts everyone when stuff is stolen, as it usually takes longer to get new product in if the computer still thinks there's stuff on the shelves. Ideally, the stock people will adjust numbers as they go over their sections. Knowing our stock team though...I don't have a lot of faith there. Aside from stolen things, some items just get lost or misplaced, so the inventory can remain inaccurate for some time if no one's interested in the product. So, occasionally, the computer will say there is a very low number of something in the store, when in fact the item is out of stock. This is usually more common with products that ship in larger quantities, like art supplies and such, I find. Or, if something's new or in low quantities, there's the annoying chance that someone is just walking around with it in their cart. Additionally, we tend to have carts of "reshop" (stuff that is returned or left behind that needs to be put back out on the floor) sitting around that are full of stuff. It's usually random junk, but I have occasionally found the odd figure.
