Very underrated faction IMO during 97. If the WWF took em seriously they could've had a decent run. It still boggles my mind how they went nowhere with Kurrgan as the guy would've made one hell of a monster heel. Talk about dropping the ball.
Even their theme song was bada$$

I remember watching them in the USWA that summer of 1997 before they arrived. They were better there in the USWA than they were in the WWE.
I am pretty sure that Vince didn't give a crap about them though except Kurrgan. Since he was so big. I am sure Vince saw money to be made with him, little did he know that wasn't gonna be the case.

I mean I think the biggest ball they dropped with them was by not having them interact on any major scale with The Nation of Domination. The Nation was clearly a spin on the Nation of Islam which is a Black Supremacy group. Truth Commission was clearly a spin on the South African white separatist group. How do you not let these two groups cross paths?

If he saw huge money in him then surely he would've got a monster push or even been Vince's henchman against Austin.

I'm surprised they didn't go this route. He had this intimidating look that could've easily been a big time heel during that time period

I would have liked a program between The Truth Commission and the Nation but I can see why they never pulled the trigger on doing it.
Don Callis told the story about how Kurrgan was with his wife at the WrestleMania XIV after party and his wife wanted him to dance. Don told him not to do it because he knew if Vince saw him dance that his gimmick as the monster heel would be over. So Kurrgan goes to dance and Don isn't watching him dance, he's watching McMahon. Because by early 98 Kurrgan had dropped The Interrogator/Truth Commission gimmick and was just Kurrgan. Then March he dances, May he is in The Oddities.

But the Oddities formed in mid 98 and the Jackal didn't leave until around early 99 because he originally managed the Accolytes. Would Vince have decided to punish him months after Kurrgan flopped? Also I don't think Kurrgan should've needed a mouth piece. He had a real deep scary voice and I believe he could've cut great promos.

I wasn't a fan of them, but back then I was watching WCW except during commercial breaks. Or if it was one of maybe 5 wresters that I liked in the WWF at the time.
