Warning: There is swearing...
Thought I'd post this because some here have claimed that Triple H (and Steph) threw a tantrum over being forced to drop the title to Hogan. Prichard (who was actually there) tells a different story. According to him, it was Triple H's idea to put Hogan over. He knew Hogan was red hot after WM18, and suggested putting the title on Hogan right away. And that the whole show had to be rewritten hours before RAW to set it up. Goes to show not everything we read on the internet (especially back then) is true. I for one was angry about Triple H getting a weak run after returning from his injury. Now I know it was his idea.
I listen to Bruce on here occasionally. For the most part it's pretty insightful and sometimes funny. Are there any other long standing rumors that you believed that have been debunked by credible sources on YouTube shoots?

I think the interesting thing that Prichard confirmed was the encore presentation of Mania 9 and the following European tour were the reason Hogan won the belt at Mania 9. Now in that same pod cast the European tour thing was debunked, but Prichard said it was one of the reason he won the title. The encore presentation part I had never heard about. I remember hearing back in the day that they wanted Hogan to be champ one more time overseas.

I marked like a mother when Hogan won the belt at Backlash. Hogan even dropped HHH with an RKO in that match.

I would say giving Hulk hogan the World Title in 2002 made sense. I will always equate Hogan's reign in a similar regard to Bob Backlund's reign in 1994. A simple thank you for your years of service. While Triple H gets a bad rap but looking back, Triple H was in the right for most of the tings from 2002-2005. Triple H is one of those guys who really knows what's best for business. After hearing this week's STW podcast, I can see why Triple H was the fall guy at WrestleMania XX.
After meeting Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson, they are just like all of us. Fans of the business. For Bruce, he was in the inside for a lot of the stuff and debunks a lot of stuff the dirt sheets report on. After 15 years, 2002 sure was a wonky year for pro wrestling.
