They were crazy over with the crowd right out the gate. Most people didn't like the addition of Sting. I didn't care for the addition of Luger either. Also hated the removal of Scott Hall. Hall turning on Nash seemed so dumb. I believe Savage needed time off for a real injury so that maybe changed some things.
I liked the group as just Nash, Hall, Savage and Konnan, even if it was only for one night. Can take or leave Dusty. Maybe Hennig or DDP if Savage needed time off.
Member wise, who did you think fit? If it was your call, who would have been the members?

I wasn't a fan of the red & black. And I hated Sting joining it. But then I hated when the NWO Black & White overly expanded. To me the they should have left the Black & White as... Hogan Hall Nash Giant Savage Konan Steiner Bagwell
With the last two joining after the other left to form the Wolfpac. And the Red and Black should have been... Nash Hall Savage Konan Luger

Adding Sting and Luger to it was just awful.

The first time I ever saw Sting he was in the black and red paint so the whole Wolfpac persona will always be special to me.

I've mentioned before that when I re-booked the original NWO, it would last all the way until 98. In 98 I had WCW go over them at War Games to where they had to disband.
From there in early 99, you can have Nash as the leader. Again NWO had to break up, so no red NWO shirts, it's wolfpac. I would have Hall in it. Can't have Waltman because he is in WWF. BUT I would turn Bret Hart to have three WWF guys. Later on maybe have Savage. Hogan could return as a face to help Sting take them out.
I actually hated the Wolfpac though. Nash said in a shoot interview once that WCW would put NWO on an advertisement for a house show. Well if they (I imagine he is talking about the original members) didn't feel like going to that city, they would "throw that guy a shirt" and that's how a lot of the NWO members happened. If they didn't do this, the group would have never ballooned to the size it did.
I would keep Gonad as far away from it. I hated him. I respect what he did in Mexico, huge star, but didn't like him.

Personally, i liked the Wolfpack. If i were booking, the Wolfpack would not have been nWo. It would have been separate from the nWo. By doing that, itd made more sense for Sting to join Nash cause Sting was the nWos biggest enemy. It made no sense for Sting to join the nWo Wolfpack a few months later after beating Hogan at Starrcade. Then again, the booking of Sting after Starrcade 97 made no sense IMO. Nash, Hall, Sting, Konnan and Savage would have been good enough for the Wolfpack

I didn't like the nWo Wolfpac idea at all. To me, it was diluting the original which was already played out by the time they split. Once Sting joined, I lost a lot of interest in wCw. Luger I kind of understood, because he was known to be a slimy heel from time to time. Same with Savage. But Sting was supposed to be the man (along with DDP) that tore down the whole nWo faction. Not join part of them.
I also have had a deep seeded hatred of Konnan for a long time. He annoyed me like no other. So him being there certainly didn't do the Wolfpac any favors for me.
