Yes, I watched it. From what Ive heard, apparently she was a stuck up b**** about the whole thing. I believe she wrote something negative about that segment in her book. Someone on here might offer more clarity on the subject, but Rude was funny as hell. Stayed in character the whole time while she didnt know where to look or how to act. lol Rude has a wonder "moon" face in this segment, so obvious he was on steroids. I really miss, Rude.

I havent seen it, might look it up later but it sounds like Rude & Heenan were in gimmick and Kathie Lee was just the prude, for a lack of better terms, that she's well known for being.

It's true that she was not a fan of having wrestlers on. You can tell by her face when Rude takes the robe off that she wants nothing to do with it.

This segment and what Kathy Lee Gifford wrote in her book came to light when Kathy Lee and Hoda appeared on RAW a few years ago. The reason a lof of pro-wrestlers appeared on Regis and Kathy Lee was due to Regis Philbin being a massive wrestling fan. Kathy Lee had/has a disdain for wrestlers in general. blissfan4life, it is funny you brought this up. This episode of Live With Regis & Kathy Lee aired 28 years ago today. Bobby Heenan and Rick Rude appeaing on Live was to promote SummerSlam '89 which would take place later in the day. |

I can't stand Cathy Lee and Hoda. Whenever my wife would have them on TV they came off looking like a couple of lushes.

this is a classic segment. and kathy lee probably should've saved her spite for her cheating football player husband...lol
