Mattel sells a lot of figures by including belts. I doubt they are interested in making really nice belts at all, because if they did, no one would want the stiff plastic ones anymore, and it would be too expensive to switch to premium belts exclusively. It would be really nice to have belts that move and wear like the real ones though.

How do you about doing that? Super glue (or stronger bonding agent) onto the leather? That looks really cool!

I cut a slit into the strap like how they are on the rubber strap it came with and it fits perfect. I've also done one where I cut the hooks of the plate and super glued the plates onto the leather without any cuts.

Hey everyone, haven't posted here in a very long time. I was inspired by Nelly quite a while ago to start making leather belts. I think I shared a few of them years ago, but I never stopped making them. I saw this thread and thought I might show off what I've done to those who haven't seen them, which is probably most of you lol. Some Mattel, some Jakks. All on real leather. Hand painted where Mattel or Jakks didn't apply paint, like the black on the ECW Championship. Mixed and matched a couple of plates on the X division belt. I might post more detailed pics on the custom accessories board later, along with some of my other custom stuff. That board needs more attention. Leather belts are the crap. Time for you to open an etsy shop lol

I wonder if a thinner material would be better though since leather is generally pretty thick for this scale. Especially if you stitched 2 pieces together like they do in the real belts so that the back side is nice too.

I would love if they were rubber! It's so difficult to stage a figure with any title. I literally have to shove them in their hands. On some figures it works, but others not so much: Also Mattel should release an accessory set that just has all the titles. I know Mattel doesn't do Grapple Gear, but they should release a package with all the titles. I still have a Sunday Night Heat edition Grapple Gear from Jakks, so Mattel should do something like this:

Thats why they wont do it, because imagine how many more quakes and typhoons would be rotting if not for the belts.

I would honestly pay $40.00 to $50.00 for a pack if it included WWE Championship, Universal Championship, IC Title, US Title, SD Woman's, Raw Woman's, Raw Tag Team, SD Tag Team, and the Cruiser weight Title. That would be 11 belts if they included 2 for each brands respected championships. But I'm sort of a weirdo when it comes to having all the belts, so maybe $50.00 would be a little extreme.

I wish RSC would sell belts individually. Then we'd be able to have them and not have to worry about theft and other non-fun things like that

Mattel doing something cool and looking out for collector's interest?
Good luck with that.
