2-3 years ago it seemed obvious that the Shield members Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were the future of WWE. Now in 2017 only Reigns seemed to be a main eventer where as Rollins and Ambrose are mid-carders. Who is the future now? The guys in NXT seem bland at the moment and a lot of the NXT wrestlers who have debuted on main roster have flopped. I'm not really sure who the future is at moment but I'm picking my top 10 wrestlers who I believe will be major players in years to come. 1. Braun Strowman ![](http://shop.wwe.com/on/demandware.static/-/Sites/default/dwf2b5f2e5/images/slot/landing/superstar-landing/Superstar-Category_Superstar_562x408_braunStrowman.png) He is already getting a huge push but I believe that Braun will be a huge part of the company for the next ten years. 2.Matt Riddle ![](http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/matt_riddle___progress_atlas_champion_by_badluckshinska_dazg30l_9.png) I think Matt Riddle may become the new RVD. He's cool and likeable and I'm sure WWE will sign him once he's done with the indies. 3. Kevin Owens ![](https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/prowrestling/images/4/4b/Kevin_Owens_WWE_United_States_Championship_2017.png/revision/latest?cb=20170408114259) Owens is in a big feud with the Mcmahons at the moment and I think that this is just the start. He's one of the top heels in wrestling and that isn't gonna change any time soon. 4. Enzo Amore ![](https://orig12.deviantart.net/befe/f/2017/053/3/d/enzo_amore_by_austinriverayt-db01h87.png) Enzo has more charisma than most wrestlers have in his little finger. He just needs to improve in the ring and maybe put on a little more muscle and then he's world title material. 5. Jason Jordan ![](https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/wwebrady/images/3/3d/Jason_Jordan.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160606225232) Already getting a push Jason Jordan seems destined for greatness. His match with Reigns cemented that. Expect him to be a future wrestlemania main eventer. 6. Chad Gable ![](https://i.pinimg.com/236x/52/3d/fe/523dfedcc9ca9c0dcb9686d9ad352c7e--jordan-polyvore.jpg) Probably the best technical wrestler in WWE today. Should do great things in years to come. 7. Cesaro ![](http://cesaro-source.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/170614_cesaro1-720x340.jpg) Once he has got out of tag team purgatory I hope he gets his long deserved push. If given a chance he could be a much bigger superstar than most people think he could be. 8. The Miz ![](http://cdn1-www.wrestlezone.com/assets/uploads/2017/03/the-miz-642x362.jpg) He's been a part of WWE now for well over 10 years now and I don't think he's leaving any time soon. Once the Miz starts to look middle aged he will become even more obnoxious and It will fit into to his heel character perfectly. Expect him to be in role similar to Flair in noughties. 9. Roman Reigns ![](http://shop.wwe.com/on/demandware.static/-/Sites/default/dwe03be1d5/images/slot/landing/superstar-landing/Superstar-Category_Superstar_562x408_romanReigns.png) No explanation needed. 10. Adam Cole ![](https://www.njpw1972.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/adamcole_en-352x528.png) He's just joined NXT and he's already making waves. I expect him to do what no one has done before and have a hall of fame career. Probably more I could have included but that's my top ten. Thoughts? And who's your top ten?

Braun. He's so badass.
Adam Cole looks like a tiny man child with multiple parents consisting of Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk and Chris Hero.

Of the current roster, I'd say the only "locks" are Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, and maybe Kevin Owens and Finn Balor. Braun Strowman is having his moment right now, but I don't see this lasting all that long. No character has ever been booked this strongly for the entirety of their career, and the moment the booking stops favoring Braun Strowman, I think you're going to see his stock plummet pretty significantly. They're right to strike while the iron is hot right now, though.
Definitely disagree with Enzo, though. He's not even remotely close to World Title material, and it's very unlikely he ever will be. At the rate he's going, he'll be lucky to have a job with the company at this time next year. They're consciously burying him on TV, he's awful in the ring, and he's getting smaller reactions every week.

Roman. Everyone else is expendable to Vince until the day he dies.

Enzo Amore is World Title material? Hell no. I doubt he'll even have a job with WWE this time next year if he keeps up his nonsense. The rest of the list, I basically agree with save for Riddle - I can only see him as a mid-carder despite his talent.

Scary how so much of NXT doesn't seem like future big stars. Drew McIntyre should be a big factor in the future. Black seems like he would be a big deal but I see him having a ceiling around a midcard title. Ohno is pretty much past his prime as is Itami. Almas likely has a ceiling. NXT actually has a lot of guys that are entertaining but seem like they can only go so far.
As for the current main roster, I see Roman, Seth, Ambrose, Jordan, Braun, Balor, Owens, maybe Nakamura, and the women.
Guys like Cesaro, Sheamus, Miz, Roode, Zayn, etc will probably be around for a long time but mainly to be solid supporting players on the show. Styles will probably reduce his schedule in a few years so he'll probably be an attraction. I feel like Nakamura may do the same.
As much as I think he's gotten way overrated, I do still think Kenny Omega is valuable and he'll likely end up in WWE. Well probably see Cody Rhodes back and he's really good.
I also just wanna say that I hope WWE doesn't sign Matt Riddle. I've never actually seen him wrestle but I've heard a bunch of interviews he's done and I cant stand listening to him talk. He's so high all the time he can barely put coherent sentences together.

Lists guys in their mid to late 30s. "Future of WWE" Everyone isn't Ric Flair. Also, Matt Riddle is never gonna go to WWE, he loves his drugs too much.

I would say that any choice WWE chooses to be the future of WWE will be the best. Roman Reigns they choose him is one of the best defiantly.

Why is this even a topic??
Just look at the WWE and where guys sit. Roman, Strowman, Ambrose, Rollins, Owens, Styles, will always be in the WWE Title picture.

Matt Riddle looks freaking ridiculous wresting in nothing but trunks. No need pads, boots, wrist tape what so ever the dude is going to get injured like Rusev did.

Keep an eye on Montez Ford. Though he's only had a few televised matches, he seems like a natural. Charismatic and athletic.

This list lost all credibility the minute it excluded No Way Jose.

It's hard to say. It never really ends up the way you think it will. Who would have thought that with all of the talent on the roster, which caused them to split the brands again, that Jinder Mahal would be one of the champions?
You can count on Reigns being a major player for a while. I think Rollins too once the thing with Ambrose is done. Seth is pound for pound the best in the company in my opinion. Seth/Roman is a money feud.
Other than that I don't know. Guys get their moments and then flounder. Owens, Balor, Ambrose being the prime examples. All talented guys who should be cornerstones of the company but misused horribly. I like Braun Strowman a lot but who know what happens after this Brock match. I'm advocating for Strowman to win the match and have a run with the title only to drop it back to Brock at Rumble so they can do this Roman/Lesnar nonsense.

Well I think these ten men will be the guys that the WWE builds around for the next decade.I am leaving off guys like Styles,Roode,Joe...ect who are 40 or so and I don't see anyone around 40 or so stay for the next decade.
Ambrose Bate Cole Dunne Jordan McIntrye Reigns Rollins Strowman Wyatt

Reigns and Rollins seem to be the only for sure guys with the way they've been treated.
Ambrose is great but I feel like if it wasn't for the whole "Shield" thing he'd be a goner (which is a shame as the guy has remained consistently over despite trash booking). As long as Roman and Seth are around then Dean should be safe.
With Owens being a HHH guy and Vince's recent involvement with him, I'd say that Owens is the next surest bet after the Shield guys.
Besides those 4, anything can happen.

"NXT is the future of the WWE"-HHH since 2012
2017: Undertaker, Goldberg and HHH are in the top 3 matches at Wrestlemania
NXT is about as barren as the New York Mets farm system. Im sorry, but I dont see a John Cena or a Brock Lesnar coming up anytime soon.

The answer to this is simple... The future of WWE is whomever WWE chooses to throw their real support behind. There's a lot of incredibly talented guys and gals in the company right now. IMO, top to bottom, the roster is the most talented it's ever been. Both from an in ring aspect AND a character aspect. The problem is that WWE has chosen a plug and play cookie cutter style approach to their storylines and television presentation. Because of that, no one really stands out unless they decided to put a little extra effort into allowing them to stand out. Even then it's often not good enough to be memorable. Kevin Owen's Universal Championship reign is a perfect example of that. Him and Jericho were pretty well killing it in their promos the whole time, yet WWE plugged Owens into the same generic cowardly heel gimmick they use anytime a bad guy is champion. Imagine if Owens was allowed to be the badass "Fight Owens Fight" guy he was in NXT and when first coming to the main roster. Then imagine he wasn't fed to Goldberg and the Jericho storyline had a rightful end with a Universal Championship match at WrestleMania. It could have been a truly epic title reign. Instead, it became just another heel championship reign. Rusev is another example of WWE not really giving a crap beyond a few select guys. Rusev is incredibly talented and has just about everything you want in a WWE superstar (just needs a little work on his promos or to keep Lana as a primary mouthpiece). Yet, for some reason, he's sitting on the bench more often than he's appear in TV.
So, really, the bottom line is that the "Future Of WWE" is whomever they decided they want it to be. It'll be that way until either WWE is done or someone with a mind of modern audiences is in charge.
