He was managed by Slick for one maybe two dark matches before making his official tv debut. I believe one of the dark matches is on that new WWE unreleased DVD they have out now.

On the latest WWE DVD release about the Unreleased Matches from 86 - 95, you get to see Earthquake Evans have a try out match with Slick as his manager. Quake even comes down to "Jive Soul Bro" which is hilarious. He wears like over all jeans and a shirt too when he wrestles that match.

I didnt realise this until i watched the unreleased dvd. Slick also managed tugboat/typhoon in his first dark matche in 89 as big steel man. Funny how both members of the natural disasters started out with the slickster.

I can see why they didn't have Slick manage Quake when he made it to TV as during that time he had both Akeem/Bossman in his stable. A 3rd big guy would've been overkill IMO.
Jimmy Hart was the perfect choice.

They used to try to put the taller guys with Slick too, since Slick was such a tall dude. It looked funny with him being taller than the likes of Rick Martel when he managed him.
