*Updated '89 won*
So now the question is which one? I am thinking one of these four... 1989 1990 1991 1997
So what does everyone else think? And is the a Halloween Havoc you want to see more?

As a Philly native I gotta go with 89. Loved the main event with Flair/Sting vs Funk/Muta.

I say go for...... all of them! Pure wcw goodness. 89 is great but I usually watch 91 for the chamber match and Rudes return as the phantom each Halloween. Loved it when u was young and Austin v Rhodes is a great match too

I would say 91 out of the four you listed. But of course 95 was great as well. Let's see...91 has El Gigante, 95 has Yeti. 91 has Chamber of Horrors, 95 has Monster Trucks. 91 has one Lex Luger match, 95 has two Lex Luger matches. Gee it's a toss up for me.

My favourite Halloween Havoc was 1993, so I really have no input on this one.
But for the record, if anyone wants to watch an awesome Halloween Havoc PPV, check out the 1993 one.
Cactus vs. Vader in a brutal violent match Dustin vs. Austin for the US Title Rude vs. Flair for the World Title Bulldog vs. Regal for the TV Title Sting vs. Sid
Just a lot of good stuff on that one.

I'll say 89 simply because late 80's NWA was one of my all time favorite eras.

My review of Havoc 89...
Z Man vs Mike Rotunda- Decent opener. nothing else to say about it. If I recall they gave Rotunda that stupid sailor gimmick soon after this.
Samoan Swat Team vs Midnight Express/Dr. Death- not a bad match here but damn it went nearly 20 minutes which imo was unnecessary. The Midnights turned heel soon after this which they were way better at.
Tommy Rich vs Cuban Assassin- The Philly faithful summed up this match perfectly...boring!! this match is the definition of filler. Moving on...
Freebirds vs Dynamic Dudes for the tag belts- Terrible match here. Johnny Ace no matter how you slice it was terrible in the ring. Hearing Philly boo Douglas was a prelude to his franchise character years later.
Steiners vs Doom- I like both teams but man this is another boring tag match. Doom would get better but here as a team they were still green.
Lex Luger vs Brian Pillman for the US belt- best match of the night. Pillman was the perfect worker for Luger's style and the match just clicked because of it. Definitely check this match out. Good stuff.
Road Warriors vs Skyscrapers- Terrible match wrestling wise but you got 4 big dudes beating the hell out of each other for over 10 minutes so in that sense it's fun to watch. To quote J.R. this match was indeed ''bowling shoe ugly''
Flair/Sting vs Muta/Funk in the ''Thunderdome catch match- Fun match here overall even though it was pointless to have Bruno Sammartino as the ref. I liked how they blended both feuds into one big match here.I'm a big fan of all 4 guys so that made this match enjoyable for me as well.
Overall Havoc 89 is definitely a mixed bag but there is some good stuff on here. I loved the NWA during this time period so that made me enjoy this show(even with the duds)and you got J.R. and Bob Caudle on commentary. If your a classic NWA fan give this show a look.

Halloween Havoc 1991 is like a giant three hour-long piece of wrestlecrap. I enjoy the nostalgia and there is actually some decent wrestling scattered amongst the feces.

Man that Luger/Pillman match was really good. People are so hung up on insulting Luger nowadays they forget he was pretty good for the time.
Z Man doesn't get enough credit either. His match with Rotunda was pretty good.
Tommy Rich always reminds me of a wrestling grandma. He moved like Mae Young when she was in her 80's.
I remember reading in a PWI that Doom was Simmons and Reed. I told my friends brothers that, and they made fun of me for how dumb I sounded.
This is when I like Rikishi. The Samoan Swat Team were legit. Especially with the 3 of them.
Gotta love Dr Death teaming with The Midnight Express. Love all of them.
I wouldn't have wanted to ref the Skyscrapers vs Road Warriors match. Keep your damn check.
Terry Funk looked like a million bucks here. Main event was pretty decent too. Love Muta.

Luger vs Pillman is a match I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen before. Not sure how either. Even more embarrassing when you know I've seen the Chamber of Horrors match probably ten times. I've even watched P.N. News/Big Josh vs The Creatures at least twice. 😞
