I'm not expecting much and that's the most disappointing part. HOF seems to be done since they haven't given any updates, flashbacks have been cut like crazy and not much in the future, and there aren't much flashbacks coming in general It's cool I'll just give hot toys and neca my money haha Eh I will just save the money lol. Hot toys look amazing but I just can't find a set of figures they make I'm thst interested in.

You do realize there was a huge "love affair" with flashbacks that only ended not too long ago. There was a point where until about 3 or 4 lines ago there was 3 flashbacks per set. That's freakin half!!!!
And NXT guys who are on the current show and are performing weekly deserve figures as well. For the longest time is was super rare to get an NXT figure in a line, but very common to get a legend. I think that script is going to flop for a while and it'd be cool if everybody wouldn't freak out just because their favorite figure type is now in the minority.

NXT shows always sell out, taping them has nothing to do with a following, they're taped so they can be on tour.

I’m with ya. I’ve resorted to start to make customs to finish up my collection. However can’t wait to get Liz, Virgil, USA Macho, Mean Gene, HOF Diesel &Piper.

Totally agree with the OP... there just seems a general lack of Flashback and Legend figures as a whole, which is disappointing. And I would have preferred the continuation of the Defining Moments line over the new Entrance Greats figures too (...if the EG are indeed replacing the DM figures). I went from buying multiple per elite set to maybe one every other. I'm still a collector and still enjoy good figures but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel if Flashbacks continue to be dwindled as time passes. That Elite 55 Undertaker is a prime example of why I've cut back 90%+ on my buying of Mattel WWE. This.

I wish there were more flashbacks too but honestly I'm OK with this recent burst of modern figs. If I were a kid I'd be pumped right now, and the modern elites were lacking a bit in quantity, I can admit as much. Plus I'm saving some money at a time when I probably should be saving some money, lol. I do hope that it will come back around though and sometime within the next year we get a heavy dose of flashbacks again. As annoying as it is once a month to see "Should there be a new flashback line?" threads, I'm ready for a 4-figure, once a quarter flashback line to solve all of our needs. Just do it, MDT.

I feel like I’m the only person super hyped for any and all jinder figures! I hope we get him in green yellow orange or blue attires basics and elites I’m super pumped for them, and body else with me? I especially hope it’s a complete new mold for everything however I would accept/expect them to use Scott Hall and or psycho sid molds. Your thoughts He's just boring as hell, and much like Roman Reigns, I think he's being shoved down our throats.

I’m starting to feel like an anomaly here as I collecto current superstars as well as flashbacks.
Honestly, I’m not to thrilled with a lot of what I’ve been seeing. I’m done with basics after the redesign and there hasn’t been too much Elite wise that I’m interested coming up. The ones I’d say I’m the most stoked for would be the Brutus Beefcake Mania 9, Rich Swann, Charlotte w/robe, and the Flair Retro. Mostly I think stuff has just been underwhelming. Oh well, more money for me to save for something else. The lack of what I want from Mattel has just given me more cash to recollect Hasbros and LJN stuff from my childhood. I’m not going to quit collecting and I always end up picking up a few more than expected once I see them in person. I’m also really looking forward to the Angle EG. But I have faith that Mattel will at some point announce a ton of stuff I want. I don’t have to always be buying figures at a breakneck pace and I’m fine with that.

There is a lot riding on Ringside fest. I started collecting back in 1999 (at least MOC, I had some hasbros back when I was kid) (and yes I’m an old bastard). Comic Con was a let down for me, and last year wasn’t much better. The recent reveals have done little to keep me enthusiastic about the current product. Sure, EG Angle looks good, but I would rather DM Angle. The only other figure I was somewhat happy about was Beefcake. I will reserve judgement on the new 2 packs for the moment, and even then, I’m in no rush. I get stores like exclusives- but as an international collector, that just means the cost goes up as shipping kills me. I have to buy in smaller lots and shipping starts to add to figure costs. At the moment if I was to buy a single figure, at say $20, u can double that (and often more) for shipping before I see it. But if I can get 10 figures at $20, I might pay $90 shipping. The exclusives don’t help me on that front. The re-issues piss me off no end. MDT love affair with NXT is also killing it for me. There is a reason NXT tapes shows, its following is limited (not a knock on the product NXT fans, its a statement of fact). I suffered a Jakks hangover, until e16 dragged me back in. Before that I only got the original DM figures and 20 also legends. But the future line up’s (leaked and confirmed) do little for me... I am hoping Ringside fest reignites my interest, cause the product just seems so..... blah at the moment. Anyone else hoping for a impressive showing at Ringside fest? For the same reason? There is a lot riding on Ringside Fest...for you, you mean. EG Angle is exactly what DM Angle would have been. In the grand scheme of things, there really aren't that many exclusives at all. The vast majority of the line is available everywhere. Major retailers get exclusive lines because they pay for them. Stores are trying to get foot traffic into THEIR aisles first. Same answer to reissues. There aren't that many of them at all. And there is literally ZERO reason they should "piss you off to no end" unless MDT is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy a case of each. Just bypass them. If you're not based in the US, then I don't know what to tell you. Move? Get a higher paying job? This isn't a new thing and they're not out to get you. Just because you don't like or know much about NXT is no reason to believe that it's some underground niche product that nobody cares for. It's pretty popular after all. So, no, I'm sorry, I can give you little support in this because honestly it just sounds like you have sand in your crack and you need a nap.

I'm hoping maybe WWE can sign some legends and mend some fences with some guys in 2018 and we get some awesome legends in 2019. That is my hope at this point.

I'm 100% okay with flashbacks taking a break for a bit. They need to prioritize current talent before the legends. just look at all the new talent that come in within the last year or so. We've had: the CWC, MYC, New NXT talent, the superstar shakeup, and the UK tournament. Mattel has had their hands full to say the least.

I am hoping for a good showing but if they don't reveal much then its not gonna have any impact on whether or not I will continue to collect. As long as Mattel continues to make figures that I want, then I will continue to buy them. If they decide to make fewer figures from the eras that I collect, then that just means I will be buying fewer figures. Agreed 100%. I try not to get my hopes up anymore, nor do I let the declining number of flashbacks in the main lines drag my opinion of Mattel's efforts down in any way. There will never be a perfect balance which pleases all collectors. Clearly, Mattel is focusing more of their time on the current WWE and NXT rosters for reasons which probably don't concern us, but I'm sure they are valid. I'm honestly surprised that there wasn't more of an emphasis on them already.
