Decided to throw an old Raw on the network tonight. This particular Raw is basically the Raw that got me back into wrestling full time. As some of you may remember, after nearly 7 years not watching wrestling weekly, starting in 2009 with WrestleMania 25, I would start watching a few weeks before Mania just to catch up so I could watch the show. However, once Mania was over, it was back to not watching. That was until WrestleMania 26.
We all know what made me tune in that night, obviously it was Shawn's farewell, but aside from a few breaks here and there, I've been watching since that night.
With that being said I thought I'd just share my random thoughts as I watch:
- I miss the Burning it Down theme (in comparison to what we have today)
- I miss the opening Tag video used here, so much better than the "Then, Now, Forever" deal.
- SuperCena was in full effect here
- I miss Heeltista, it's a shame that magic wasn't recaptured during his brief 2014 return.
- I hate how Cena no-sold the briefcase attack by Swagger as he was going to the back after all was said and done.
- Seeing all the legends was nice, however I had a sad moment when Piper came out, still can't believe he's gone.
- Guest hosts...need I say more?
- Santino was so good. It's too bad he's not still used as some sort of on-air personality. Never cared for his wrestling style, but the man was/is a damn good entertainer.
- Trips coming out to talk, such heartfelt words. Love moments like this one here. I thought Sheamus attacking him happened at the end of the show. It's funny how our memories can seem so sure but end up being wrong. Lol
- Good God, the women have came such a long way since 2010...thank goodness.
- Having Bret back around was nice, but I still feel his match with McMahon should have been handled differently, seeing as he was in no shape to truly work. Maybe it should have been a tag? Bret and Tyson Kidd Vs. Vince and ??
- I enjoyed Miz during this time, in fact I was a fan of him being WWE champ, unlike most...but man, looking back, and seeing where he is now, the man has grown so much.
- There were two matches (so far at least) that started during commercial...that sucks.
- Jack Swagger should have never been given mic time...Jesus.
- There are no words for the emotions HBK's farewell puts me through every time... it's second to only his HOF induction the next year.
