No I haven't lost my mind. Are you bummed about the low height of your RAW Main Event Ring ropes? Do you have 2 pairs of Leg Sleeves of Doom laying around? The ring posts fit snugly in the larger opening of the leg sleeves of doom, and the height raises the ropes to an optimal level. Everything feels secure and looks right! Sneak Preview of my Lonely Virgil convention setup: What do you think?

Can you post a more straight on shot, like a hardcam angle?

Ok I’m confused what is the leg sleeve of doom? The useless and awful large kneepads Mattel has used for 8 years despite literally nobody liking them since day one.

Nice work man, looks pretty good. I hate those leg sleeves with a passion, but I'm glad they provide a simple and cheap fix for people who bought this ring.

I tried this but I couldn’t get the ring post out of the slot that has the button that makes it light up come out. I was afraid of wrecking it. The other three ring posts came up just fine

Hey Folks, To clear up a few things - no you can't remove the post that is connected to the light box. The only way to get this done is with two Main Event rings. This will allow you to put two part B's and part C's together and use 4 single posts. And no I wasn't crazy to spend $200+ on two rings, I found an awesome deal for $115 for two complete rings minus the Goldberg figures. Otherwise I wouldn't even attempt this. $12 for my seamstress to resize/restitch the RSC ASR WCW ring skirts to fit the Main Event ring and I was back in business. Looks fantastic actually...How did you go about changing the ropes and did you use your own elastic cord? I didn't want to chance cutting them off. The ropes are just like the regular basic ring ropes. One turnbuckle has the thick housing piece that hides the tied knot for each rope. Push that out and you can change the ropes. Be careful with the length though. You can't have these ropes too taut because you are sliding the posts up about 1" from the base, too-tight ropes will not allow the posts to stay in the sliding groove. So the ropes are semi-slack, but not too slack as you can see. I used RSC ASR elastic cords, but cut to resize and experimented with the tightness. I'm surprised no one asked about the yellow turnbuckles. Unfortunately after heating up the posts in hot water to see how the turn buckles are attached, they are molded completely around a small loop on the post, so I had to break them to pry them off. I took yellow turnbuckles from the WCW Classic basic ring and pretty much crazy-glued them to the exposed small loops on the red posts. Wish there was a better solution - would have thought Mattel would make those turnbuckles "clip-on" instead of "molded on".

I don't hate the leg sleeves honestly, I prefer them over the tiny one with the strands in the back that sometimes break when trying to get them off

I personally loved this ring and thought it was perfect with the exception being the size of the ropes. I had been thinking of how to fix this issue but hadn’t tried anything yet. After seeing this post, I put 3 long knee pads in and now it’s perfect. I have the one side that slants down where the button is but will likely live with that until I see a good deal for another ring so I can truly fix it up.
Thank you for posting this and sharing. It was a very easy solution to the only problem I had with this great ring.
