Not really concerned about the ring here, have 6 Hasbro rings here. Going to start customizing some of them too.

Bill saying he only worked on Series 2 is bad news imo. Not having Diesel announced yet, the Goldberg debacle, a total lack of "flashbacks" announced outside of Flair, and HBK in chaps all immediately made sense though... Yeah... the line seems to be going downhill very quickly (imo) after a strong start. Come back Bill... all is forgiven!

If we don't get diesel or any other legends then this is just stupid and I'll get rid of them.
Knowing Mattel they will give us a nwo Nash instead. They love the nwo stuff.

Come back Bill... all is forgiven! series 2 is my favorite series as well but it was because of the wrestlers not the design. Rocks legs were terribly short, Kane was missing his belt and had no design on this legs, Mankind didn’t have sleeves and Austin’s face wasn’t great. I thought the 2 jumpers were well done but they were jumpers.

I don't care how many diesels are in a store or online. I guarantee that figure is near impossible to get. Collectors would buy 25 of just him. I don't even care that is a money maker right there. Ringside exclusive orange card set cone on ringside you could sell them for 25$ to 50$ each make that damn diesel retro.

They should do debut Goldust as well in the line along with Diesel and Mania 6 Warrior

Really wish Bill was still working on these... he said he did series 2 (which was all awesome!), but someone else is working on them now - and it seems VERY current-roster based. And whoever thought that modern Goldberg (with no gloves too) was a good idea, needs a serious talking to... Such a shame. I really enjoyed Series 2 and was very optimistic going forward after the line up was announced.

This crossed my mind the other day, too. If it ends up being pretty much current guys from now on it kind of defeats the object of why I started collecting these in the first place so I'd have to make a decision on whether to throw in the towel. Still hopeful, though!

I know we saw a KO and Undertaker in the new line up but not too sure if they'll end up being re-releases or if they were just for marketing purposes. Also, I don't know how we'd feel about re-releases early on when there are so many other guys that we all want. This doesn't apply for Warrior, of course!

Yeah, but if they do another Warrior I hope they change the mold. I feel that Undertaker and KO will be coming out, guessing since the first ones were the Walmart exclusive they thought it would be a cheap way of putting out "new" figures for the wide release. Oh, and the red/black Sting aswell. I would buy Goldust, WM12 Warrior and of course Diesel! These are where the line should have been going, but it's sadly not anywhere close to what I was hoping for. So far the only figure we've gotten that's close to the Hasbro timeline was purple glove Undertaker. I was going for completion of this line, but based on what is coming down the line as of now, I've changed my mind. And will only be buying flashbacks/legends. 2 each, one loose and one MOC but I'm going to find a good customizer and order custom cardbacks and re-glue the bubble to new cards. I don't like what Mattel has done on card design, plus if I'm only getting one or two from each wave, it will look dumb having different style backing for everything. Instead I want to display them in order by era. So all new gen era on cards with new gen theme, attitude era, golden era, wcw, etc. I'm probably not buying the ring either since it's basically just a copy of the Hasbro ring but smaller and with the incorrect logo.

This sounds very cool! I think the optimism of us Legends collectors took a hit when we were given a glimpse of the next arrivals a couple of months back. The next reveals are make or break for many, I guess. Still looking forward to seeing who's next, though. Fingers crossed!

I would love more flashbacks as well but hoping they went current in hopes of attracting the younger generation as well as help promote this new interactive game app. I don't believe the future of this line is as bad as some of us seem to make it out to be. We got 16 figures in the first year of this line and have seen images for 13 coming out next year plus a ring. Amazon also shows retro app figures with no image for Big Cass and Shawn Michaels. All of these figures are rumored to be available by April 2018. I do agree that Bill not working on this line anymore is a bad sign. Wish we knew who was in charge of this line now and could ask them some questions.

While I wholeheartedly agree that we should get guys like Diesel and Goldust, why should Mattel just re-release all the guys that Hasbro already did? THAT'S exactly why we're getting current guys, because almost every big name from back in the day has already been done by Hasbro.
When they dubbed these "Retro", It was never supposed to mean that we were getting Golden Age wrestlers, it was referring to the style of the figure. Hell, this line wasn't even supposed to go past one wave, so we should be pleased that this seems to be a full blown thing now. Instead, like always, we're pissing and moaning about what we did and didn't get.
We're getting a good mix of today's top stars with some older guys that could have been done in the Hasbro style thrown in as well. They're giving us (at long last) a good Ric Flair! That's something to cheer about! Maybe they'll fix Rick Rude and 123 Kid as well. Maybe we'll get managers and female wrestlers.
Hey, here's something for you to chew on. When the Hasbro figures were coming out...did you buy them all? If you did...guess what? THEY WERE THE CURRENT STARS AT THE TIME! Just like now. This is as close to a time machine as we're probably ever going to get. So for hug's sake...stop being so hugging negative. We're getting to add to a collection that we thought stopped 23 years ago. How incredible is that? I legit feel like a kid when I find these in stores now. Get some joy in your soul.

Personally, I'm happy as heck to be getting a mix of all eras of Superstars. Hate to admit it, but I'd even buy a Barry Horowitz.

I just don't see why the waves wouldn't be a nice mix. Even 1/3 legends 2/3 modern. I'm buying them all so far. But c'mon, Mattel knows we want that Diesel action. They're just building up the hype baby!

They're just building up the hype baby! Let's look at just the Flashbacks and Legends that Mattel has done so far and split them up into a list of names that have already been done in the Hasbro style (by either Hasbro or Mattel), and which have not: Flashbacks from Elite 12-52/Legends line that HAVE been doneKane Papa Shango Boss Man Yokozuna Mankind Undertaker HBK HTM Macho Man Triple H Warrior Crush Andre Animal Hawk Luger Rock Doink Earthquake Bulldog Sid IRS Rude 123 Kid Knobbs Sags Bret Hart Neidhart Kamala Tatanka Beefcake Warlord Dusty Steamboat Slaughter Austin Jake Roberts Snuka Duggan Perfect Ax Smash Akeem Martel Texas Tornado Luke Butch Piper Bigelow Berzerker Flashbacks from Elite 12-52/Legends line that HAVE NOT been doneDiesel Nash Edge Booker T Lawler Elizabeth Christian Giant JBL Trish Bruno Road Dogg Billy Gunn Rikishi Vader Mysterio JYD X-Pac DDP Malenko Faarooq Bradshaw Godfather Umaga Lita Terry Funk Tugboat Magnum Regal Stevie Ray Goldust Pillman Boogeyman Cactus Jack Hall D'Lo Shamrock Sheik George Steele Hillbilly Jim Orndoff Eddie Guerrero Kerry Von Erich Kevin Von Erich Volkoff Now, when you look at the list of names that haven't been done yet, some do definitely stand out as potential good sellers like Edge, Booker, Eddie, Cactus, Goldust, Diesel, Hall & Nash, Vader, etc. But putting all fandom aside and thinking from a purely monetary standpoint, would you put out AJ, Dean, and Seth....or JYD, Orndorff, and Hillbilly Jim? There are also some names here that may not/probably don't currently have a deal in place. Some of these names just may not be possible. They also haven't expressed much interest in women yet, so Lita, Trish, and Liz are probably out by default.
