Yeah that's why I'm saying mix it up. Do 1 legend and like 4 modern or something. We still get a slow but consistent drip of classics and the moderns fuel it. It doesn't need to be one or the other, black or white, we can have a happy medium.

The only thing that's annoying to me is re-paints so soon. Also, and I get where they're coming from, but re-boots of retro's that existed is frustrating (HBK, Flair, Undertaker, Warrior.) We had them already as Hasbros. I get it though, big names etc. Seriously, even if all they get to is Diesel and never do another legend I'm fine. He was the big missing link for a lot of us. I don't expect Bastion Booger or Men on a Mission. Just Diesel. Toot toot.

I absolutely agree that we shouldn't have repaints so soon unless they were releasing them like as a filler wave since there was such a gap between 1 and 2. I could have seen a wave of three repaints in between there then. That would have made sense. But as a spot in a wave? Nah. Not yet.

I don't consider Jericho a flashback since he's in his modern look if that's one of the 5 being counted. Also Undertaker is a cheap repaint and we already got debut Undertaker by Hasbro. Warrior was also a fail, with all the looks Warrior had, they choose the same colors as his first Hasbro release. And it sounds like HBK is cargo pants version, so again not really a flashback so much.

Gamestop near me had two Seth Rollins. Both had black smudges on the face. Picked up the better one, but not too thrilled about the $12.99 price tag.

Diesel would be the only orange card figure that's possible that would be worth making. Booger would rot, and MOM would too. JJ will not have a wwe figure anytime soon. Also excited for retro Jericho, wish we could get Kevin Owens show Owens too.

They could also do USA Luger and Evil Doink (assuming the art we saw a few months back was legit and that was indeed the lineup.)

To be fair though, the change to mainly current roster figures starts from Series 3 on: Goldberg and Jericho are the modern versions (not classic/Flashbacks) - and the Sting and Undertaker are repaints (already!). So, with ALL the new figures that we've seen coming out from S3 onwards, only TWO are new Flashbacks (and even HBK is his later/modern look)... I can see why many collectors are upset - especially as a retro-style line like this appeals to a lot of older/classic fans.

There weren't any Flashbacks in Retro App 1.
There are 3 new Flashbacks beyond Series 2: HBK, Bryan and Flair. None of those are Diesel... (I think that term Flashback is really being used loosely here with Bryan, too)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there an NWO Savage mock-up shown at one point? It wasn't with the rest at the toy show, but I seem to remember a mock-up shown with Enzo & Sami.

Annoyingly, the one thing that is a flashback is the ring. This should've been current. Maybe we'll get one eventually.

Excluding what's already been announced for the line, the additions I'd be most excited for are: Diesel, Haku, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barbarian, Iron Sheik, King Kong Bundy, Nikolai Volkoff, Jerry Lawler 93, Jeff Jarret 95, Owen Hart 94, Goldust 96, Power and Glory Bad News Brown, Genius, Surfer Sting, Vader, Hollywood Hogan, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Christian, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, RVD, Raven, William Regal, Samoa Joe, CM Punk.
Hell, just give me the first 12 and I'd be happy.

It's 18-14 right now. As I stated before, I would have absolutely preferred three different stars to three repaints, but you can't pretend they don't exist just because you don't like them. The same goes with the figure mold and the attire choice.

^ I really wouldn't/don't class the Goldberg figure as a Flashback though - it was from his modern (this year!) look...
And as I said, a lot of the problem seems to start from Series 3 on (ie. where Bill is no longer working on them)... whatever way you look at it, the line has become VERY current-roster based.

I seriously don't understand why anyone thinks we're getting obscure characters from the 80's and 90's. Let it go! They'd never sell at mass retail and probably wouldn't be attractive enough to even have as RSC exclusives. Just look at the first series still clogging up space at every Walmart across the country. Diesel is even a real stretch at this rate.
I'm totally fine with it being mostly current guys mixed in with a few flashbacks of stars that would actually move units. It's not the best selection, but I mostly like what I've seen so far (just hate the jumpers, even going back to when I was a kid). Could use a little more colorful characters though. Having New Day, Savage, Flair might help that a bit.

Goldust, new Evil Doink, Jerry Lawler, new Yokozuna-original is perfect but I'd love an extra one, Bob Backlund and since I haven't seen it mentioned yet if you don't count everywhere-Diesel.....and the one I'd really love but we probably won't see at all: Waylon Mercy. If they release those and end the line after that I will at least be satisfied.

Having New Day, Savage, Flair might help that a bit. Well, it's Cena and Warrior clogging shelves at the Walmart's around here. With a Brock here and there. No Undertakers around anymore. So I don't think it's a matter of legends clogging shelves. Cena and Warrior are such a problem because of the way the case breakdowns went. Those 2 were way over-shipped. But, as far as I can tell, I don't see much WWE product moving in or out at any of the stores I look at. I'm only looking for retros, but I do notice the other lines. Seems like it's always the same stuff sitting on the pegs. I mean is there even much demand for wrestling figures at all anymore? I thought I heard current ratings are lower than they were in the mid 90's. I could be wrong on that, but I thought that's what I heard not long ago. And I think today, kids have more exposure to the old guys because of their dad's watching the network and are probably more familiar with guys from 20 years ago, than my generation would have been in the guys from before the golden era. I don't realistically expect MOM, Booger, and guys like that. But, there's no reason we can't get guys like Diesel, Ahmed, USA Luger, Goldust, Debut HHH, Heel Jake, Bret, Macho, Shawn, Rude, Surfer Sting, Nash, Hall, proper WCW Goldberg, DDP, Vader, Hollywood Hogan, Hall, Nash, Bulldog, Anvil, guys like that to start filling in and around the Hasbro era. And then we can fill the remaining holes with customs, but that gets expensive for quality ones.

I don't think we'll get obscure guys, but we can still realistically hope fit Diesel, Goldust, maybe Vader and Surfer Sting, guys like that aren't insane to hope for.
As far as the current dudes I'm pretty satisfied. Nakamura, AJ, Finn, Owens, I love those guys! I'm glad it's just not Cena, Lesnar and Roman but a wider array.
