Weren’t meant to be top guys? Do you think Eddie, Benoit, or someone else would make it to the next level? It’s cool thinking of maybe potential movie spots for the top spots. I feel Shelton Benjamin was good. More Shane Michaelschampionship matches? Also wondering how booking of ECW One Night Stand 2 would’ve went down. Also other booking leading us up to what we are now in terms of talent history/championship history.

They would have just found another big muscle 6 foot 2+ guy to push. In the case of Batista, he went from main event at Mania 21, missing 22, and being the fifth match out of nine on 23. They put Bobby Lashley in the McMahon-Trump feud at Mania 23. So I would assume that the WWE would have just put Lashley in the Batista role because they put Lashley in the higher profile/mainstream media part of Mania 23.

Vince McMahon gave all the hardcore wrestling fans what they wanted in 2004 - that being Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit as WWE/World Champions.
While that was happening, on Raw they were grooming Batista and on Smackdown grooming Cena to be the main guys come 2005. And at Wrestlemania 21 in 2005, that did happen.
If Eddie or Benoit was ever going to be WWE or World Champion again, it would only be a transitional reign until they got the belt on who Vince wanted it on.

The company didnt see Batista or John Cena as main eventers in 2004, which is why they had a Tough Enough where they gave $1 million to a wrestler off the street. Luckily, they got things right at Wrestlemania 21.

I think if Batista wasn't in Evolution, Mark Jindrak could've developed. Rene Dupree & Matt Morgan could've fit in Evolution as well IMO.
