With them going into the hall of fame earlier in the year, Mattel should have capitalised and got to work on them right away while they got some publicity. Instead there are still no plans for them to be released. I loved the rock n roll back in the day and really want these figures badly. Make it happen, Bill, please!

80's talent aside from the biggest names are noticably fading in interest at the stores. Plus almost all two packs have pegged and I don't see room in an elite line for two potential peggers, and Mattel knows it.

A Rock'n'Roll Express vs Midnight Express four pack for $50 would make a great exclusive collector release. Or even as a special series with BAF parts for a Jim Cornette figure (if WWE/Mattel have the rights to make all five people).
None of this will actually happen because it screams shelf warmer set but I can dream.

The dissolution of Hall of Fame 2-Packs is likely to blame, although it's impossible to gauge the level of interest in these two by the folks at Mattel. There seemed to be endless possibilities for non-WWF legends in 2016, but now I'm not so sure.

If you grew up in NY like me RnR Express are really not that vital to a collection like The Hammer or a bazillion other guys

with the HOF line faded out , I'm not sure they fit in anywhere really. I guess they could do it like they did the NOD 2 pack. But I'm not even sure that would be likely now. Plus if you did do them, then you would almost have to make The Freebirds. which some people may even want more than RnR.

80s guys don't sell anymore. Beefcake & Berzerker and sometimes Warlord are everywhere in my area and almost every current roster Elite ends up at a discount store (Big Lots, TJ Maxx etc) It still all comes down to distribution. |
