Hi guys. Many of you have seen that great Youtube vid of the young guy opening his LJNs at Christmas 1989.
So in an extension from the previous thread about LJN collector stories I am hoping that some of you would post in answer to these questions.
My LJN Christmas Which Christmas year was it? (You can add you age at the time but if you were like 37 it might seem a little strange...although nowadays it wouldn't be so!)
What were you hoping to get? (You know a kid's hope!)
What were you expecting to get? (Based on realities of what your family could afford to get you.)
What did you actually get? And were you happy, relieved, excited, surprised and so on.
I reckon the grandparents might feature strongly with the good stuff!
And any stories about hoping for an Ultimate Warrior and instead getting an Outback Jack would be welcome!
Look forward to reading the stories and hoping we can cover 85, 86, 87, 88, 89 and even 1990!

Surprisingly, I have NO Christmas memories involving LJNs. Possibly not even Hasbros. Thankfully though, the rest of my year was nearly non-stop with looking & buying so it's not like I missed out.
I look forward to some stories though. Good thread!

I found a picture of myself the other day, it was Christmas 96 and I was 6 years old, unwrapping a series 1 BCA Shawn Michaels. Ren & Stimpy pyjamas

Wrestling figures was actually something I never got for Christmas as a kid lol. I only remember when I got Star Wars, He-Man, Transformers and Real Ghostbusters.

Pretty interesting looking at that packaging, it was jacked up back then. Amazing some of these have stayed on the card for 30 years

I’m sure I have more pics somewhere. My mom was the best about getting me Wrestling figures for Christmas during the LJN years. Probably not the best pic, but I had uploaded this one a few years ago to Facebook. Me getting an LJN Beefcake for Christmas (I want to say 86 or 87) and fast forward years later Beefcake putting me in the Sleeper!!! Christmas 85-90 were the best and I have such fond memories of getting figures, after that crap hit the fan and a lot of things went downhill. I’ll try and find more pics of Christmas morning LJNs soon. Edit better pic of the sleeper so you know it’s actually Beefer lol

I think it was 85. I got JYD and Piper LJNs. Also got a Hogan, but it wasn’t LJN, it looked more like a REMCO AWA version. Came with a hard plastic black ring that had wooden pegs for the ring posts. No ropes. To this day I don’t know what it was, but I’m thinking it may have been some sort of Thunderlips fig. It was unboxed when I got it, so who knows.

Found one more, Hillbilly Jim & Hulk Hogan in the bottoms right corner. Think this was Christmas 86. I have more somewhere an actual pic of me tearing opening an LJN...made me wish I kept some in the package lol.
