I have made the jump into going for the complete WWF MOC collection (Probably not the best financial move ). I would appreciate if some collectors can help a newbie out. A few topics I could use guidance on....
1) Is eBay really my main option for purchases? - I have been tracking sold listings over the past 3 months to come up with a "fair" "average" going rate for figures. - Seems like a lot of eBay sellers are way over pricing their items. - I have tried hitting up Instagram, but I do not see many posts with them for sale. - Facebook Groups have been lackluster.
2) Protective Cases - It seems to be a general consensus from what I have seen online, but the ZoloWorld cases are best, right? - I bought a 50 pack for the start of my collecting. Hopefully I made the right choice.
3) Variants - Yikes! Seems to be a lot. However its too early for me to dive further down that rabbit hole. - One standout to me would be the SummerSlam edition of Series 2 (?) a) Besides Dusty, Would other figures hold more value with the SS Sticker in the corner? i.e. Is a Jimmy Snuka with the SS Sticker valued higher than the regular edition? b) Was that SummerSlam Sticker a Peel Away sticker with a Free Gift Sticker underneath it?
4) What is the deal with foreign sellers on eBay? Am I missing something. - I am based in the US, and I also understand there are European Cards, but there are quite a few sellers from Austria, Greece, Italy, etc. Just seems weird to me.
Any other tips, opinions, and recommendations are welcome.

Ebay is where I have purchased all of my figures from, there are other places like facebook, twitter, and amazon, but ebay has been the best option for me. Ebay sellers do, most of the time, over price their items because they have to pay a fee to ebay and paypal - so they up the price to cover the costs. Though, their are times when sellers start their prices really low and you can get a good deal. And some sellers are willing to work with you if they have a "make best offer" option with their listing (though, some are only going to give you five dollars off their asking price). No matter what, you are going to pay a lot to get all 108 carded figures (11 series plus the summer slam set). Ebay is also better than amazon because you can at least see the condition of the figure you are purchasing (I have been burned before when purchasing from amazon). Plus, if the figure comes damaged and/or does not look like the condition that was in the sellers posting, you can return the item. Best thing to do is ask the seller to add a signature confirmation at delivery on the package. This works best if you have a problem receiving packages from your post office.
I have used zoloworld cases for my MOC collection and they seem to do well, also they are a fair price - if you order one-ten at a time they are around $5, if you order more at a time they will lower the cost. However, I think the acrylic cases are better but they are $25-$27 per case, multiply that out over 100+ figure and that will be expensive.
WWF Hasbro didn't do variants, some were just printing errors that were later corrected, like the Kamala with a moon on his belly instead of a star. Also, there are early edition series 1 figures, they came with a lighter blue card color that say ages 5 and up (later editions come with a slightly darker shade of blue on the card and say ages 4 and up). Also, for the early edition Ultimate Warrior, Big Boss Man, and Akeem, their bio cards are different. For early edition Ultimate Warrior, the card says "is the WWF Intercontinental Champion" for later versions it says "won the WWF Title at WrestleMania 6". On the early edition Boss Man and Akeem cards the bio card on the back says "A member of the tag team, Twin Towers", on later printed cards it does not say that. The summer slam editions were series 1 & 2 figures with a summer slam sticker in the top corner (promoting a chance to win a trip to summer slam) they also came with a refractor card of WWF supertars (Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Jake, DiBiase, Brutus, Bossman, Hacksaw, the Rockers, and the Bushwhackers). But the figures weren't any different. I wouldn't say the summer slam edition figures are more expensive than their series 1 or 2 counterpart unless you are bidding against someone who really wants a particular figure. The figures that usually go for the most are Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant, Series 1 Macho Man, Series 1 Ultimate Warrior, Series 2 Demolition Tag Team Set, Series 3 Ultimate Warrior, Series 3 Macho Man, Series 3 Brutus Beefcake, Series 3 Koko B. Ware, Series 8 Bret Hart, Series 8 Undertaker, and the entire Series 11 Green Card set (Yokozuna 2, Crush 3, Ludvig Borga, Adam Bomb, 123 Kid, and the Smoking Gunns).
There are large numbers of foreign card figures, mostly Spanish and French.
Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for the tips mksavage. Yes, the acrylic cases would be great, but the cost is an issue. I could see possibly acrylic cases for the Green Card Set.

Forgot to add the printing errors about series 4 Bret Hart, one comes with a pink heart on his shirt and one comes with a purple heart. Neither seems to be more expensive than the other but there are more of the pink heart figures than the purple heart figures. Pink Heart: Purple Heart:

Ne neither lol. Is it just a matter of paint loss maybe from play? What about the purple card version?

For Tatanka, I just heard about it a year or so ago from someone on ebay. I have two card series 6 tatanka's one showing teeth/smiling and one not smiling, so it cannot be paint loss. Also, on the one not smiling, his top and bottom lip touch in the middle, the one showing teeth the lips don't touch and you can clearly see the teeth. I've also looked at other series 6 tatanka's on ebay and images on goolge and yahoo and some show smiling and some show not smiling. The one's for series nine all seem to be showing teeth/smiling, so I think it was an early printing/design error which was later fixed. I was hoping one or two of the collectors on this forum who know more than me would comment to explain why this happened. I remember hearing that there were 2 Dusty Rhodes heads, the first one looked angry so they changed it. I wonder if something like that happened with the Tatanka figures.

So if I wanted to remove an old KayBee Toys Price sticker from the card, should I even attempt, or leave it on there?

So if I wanted to remove an old KayBee Toys Price sticker from the card, should I even attempt, or leave it on there? I'm not sure about that. I haven't removed too many stickers to be certain that it won't tear the card, its easier if the sticker is on the bubble. I had a sticker on the Series 1 Ultimate Warrior that came off easy. But, I also had one on the Series 7 Nailz and that did not come off so well - it kind-of tore a piece off the card. I would at least wait until someone says something helpful before you try to take it off. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

No promises that it won't rip the card at all, but it worked good for me getting rid of all the sticker and not really ripping up or discoloring the cardback.

Weird, but, I only checked a handful of purple carded figures which all showed opened mouth/smiling. I guess they never corrected it. Would be interesting to know why there are two different heads.
