Found some old Jakks figures I had today. I noticed that my CS Hogan has discoloured arms and head (his body and legs are a tanned colour, this arms and head are yellowish), anyway I can fix this? Were they made like this?
Thanks

A handful of figures are more prone to discoloration over the years. Booker T and Hulk Hogan are the most common. I don't think it can be fixed. The stickiness on the rubber jackets is the worst. Its hard to find a Jakks figure made with a rubber jacket that isn't suffering from gross grossness.

Matt Striker’s white trundled figure came with discoloured legs. (Didn’t match his torso). Not the same thing but it came to mind.

Two words I fear as a collector 'discolored' and 'yellowing'

Don't know if it's always looked like that as I hadn't seen it for about 3 years until I began collecting Jakks CS again.

I don’t think I have had any figures discolor. I guess I’ve Been pretty lucky. It probably has to do with the different plastics used

Its hard to find a Jakks figure made with a rubber jacket that isn't suffering from gross grossness. Divas REALLY suffer from this problem. The rubber skirts and corsets not only get sticky and gross, but it actually melts the paint underneath. I'm currently trying to fins a way to salvage my Sensational Sherri.

Its not perfect, but I've found a minor solution to the stickiness. I use heavy duty shipping tape and stick it to the sticky parts, and it almost neutralizes it. I hope that helps a little

I hope that helps a little I went with stripping the melting paint away and repainted it. That's a fix for the figure but I haven't figured out what to do about the gummy rubber clothing that cause the problem to begin with.
