Read this last night. I think it’s pretty much 100% certain Ronda is coming to WWE. It’s not an If, it’s a when.

It would be totally unfair on the main roster women if she walks in and wins the rumble on her first night.

I don't know why people are so against her coming to WWE? She is a HUGE name in the sports world. She brings main stream attention to WWE's Women's Division that NO other woman on the roster can bring. If she joins WWE,...ESPN, FoxSports, and every media outlet that covers sports is going to be covering this....you're not getting that with Sasha Banks, Bayley, and the rest.
So yeah, to the people saying that it's "unfair" to the women who are already there....WWE is a business with the goal of making money. Ronda Rousey can sell more tickets, merchandise, and get high ratings and make WWE more main stream than any other woman on the roster, and probably more than the entire roster combined.
This is just smart business by the WWE.

Woohoo, WWE gets mainstream media coverage for a day or two, and a temporary ratings boost! That doesn't mean bringing her in increases the quality of the on-screen product. If anything, it will decrease it, because they're obviously going to push the out of her, which will only be a detriment to the rest of the women's division.

Usually when businesses make smart business decisions they are around a lot longer aka stay in business. Without it they lose money and go out. One could argue that WWE have been making moronic business decisions for years (*cough* Roman, Jinder *cough*) and still continue to turn a profit in spite of themselves. And then there's TNA, who do everything possible to kill themselves as a business, and still continue to go on. But anyways, that still doesn't mean we should care about how much mainstream media coverage (that WWE so desperately agonizes over) they get, or how much they make in merch sales they make from her. Because neither of those things affect that they'll very likely book her like an unstoppable beast for months, and make the rest of the other women in the division look like worthless pushovers to do so.

It's about the company making a profit. The WWE, and ANY COMPANY, only cares about it's fans/consumers as long as they continue to make money....WWE is not going to do, or NOT do, something that could make them money just because the "fans think it would be more entertaining". This is why Brock Lesnar is the Universal Champion, because sitting at home for most of the year with the belt is more profitable for WWE than having somebody on RAW with it every week. People say "give it to Finn Balor!" or whoever, but the handful of matches Brock Lesnar has in a year draw more money, subscribers, and ratings than a full year of anyone else. The only person who will get an exception is Roman Reigns. He's Vince's guy regardless of ratings, money drawn, or any other financial statistic. It's like the action figures. I bitch every time I feel like Mattel uses the wrong part, the wrong color, or leaves something out....but the bottom line is Mattel made the figure that way to maximize their profits, not to make me happy. Mattel couldn't care less if I, or anyone, bitches about their action figures on the internet....they make the figures to make money. Same thing with WWE. WWE doesn't care about "wrestling fans" because they assume we are going to watch and spend money no matter what...that's why they gear the product toward non-fans, because they want to bring in NEW business. That's why Ronda Rousey is coming in, and that's why she's going to clean house once she gets here, because WWE already has the time and money of fans of the existing WWE Women's Division,....now they want the money of people who never watched WWE, but WILL watch WWE specifically for Ronda Rousey, and there are a LOT of those people, trust me.

What better way to honor your women's division by having a non-wrestling, MMA fighter come in and win the 1st Ever Royal Rumble.
Where the hell is Ellsworth? We need him to win. It would be "better"

Rousey is a massive name in the mainstream sports world. A far bigger name than 95% of the mens roster aswell. Of course WWE will bring her in and dominate the womens division. WWE is all about money and publicity.

It would be "better" to be fair, they could have pulled that move with Shayna Bazler or whatever in the May Young Classic, but they gave the nod to the sailor moon girl. So it wouldn't be too surprising if Rhonda debuted in the Rumble but didn't win it.

Listen, I get WHY they're doing it - but speaking strictly from a viewer's POV, that doesn't mean we all automatically have to like or care about WHY they're doing it. Just like I don't like that Brock shows up a couple of times every 3 months, and puts in a lazy effort in most cases. However, I think people far overestimate how much of a draw she will be for WWE. Rousey is essentially a laughing stock now, and her star has fallen far from a few years ago. Will people tune in for her debut? Yes. For her first couple matches? Yes. Will they buy her merch? Yes. But they're going to lose interest quickly, because unlike with Brock, there's really only one money match in the entire women's division for Ronda - vs. Asuka. And maaaaybe against Charlotte. They're the only ones near her level. The rest of the women's roster has been booked so horribly that there's no way to believe that Rousey can't destroy all of them. IMO, there's zero chance she's close to as long-term a draw as Lesnar.
