So I’m pretty terrible at anything creative or artistic. What would you that can do this stuff say is the easiest customs you’ve made? Ideally I’d like to know if there are many good customs that can be made without painting?
I really want to get into some of this but don’t think I can paint at all. Is there much I can make without that skill?
Thanks in advance!

Everyone had to start somewhere, my friend. It might be a cliché, but practice makes perfect. I find with painting, dry brushing and thin coats work the best. Give it a try, don't be afraid!

I can’t even draw in a straight line haha. More importantly tho figures cost an arm and a leg to import here so every wasted figure hurts. What’s an easy start if I did try it?

I can't draw either - that's where decals come in handy. Try something simple, like repainting a suited figure. That's a good one to start with.

just use JAKKs figures, you can probably get those pretty cheap since the Mattel has the WWE license; and it provides great practice on them as well

Practice painting and sculpting on junk figures you find at a thrift store. Plastic is plastic, doesn't matter what you practice on.
You're going to be severely limited in what you can do if you don't want to paint, even more so if figures are too expensive to import. You're going to have to get specific figures with specific colored joints and that means ordering multiple figures just to make one frankensteined figure.

I’ve began practicing on old figures so I can do some painting. Not gonna lie my aim is just to be able to do block colors with no fine detail. Enough to pass for skin and trunks really.

Oh yeah, blocking in colors is a sinch, great for building confidence and learning the quirks of the brush. We have a bunch of tutorials over on FigureRealm that can help www.figurerealm.com/customtutorial

Had two attempts so far,’first time not good, second time better but slightly runny. Getting closer haha.
