Assuming he didnt get injured in the match, I would like to have seen him win the big one. cant believe so many people wanted him to win the title! entered this thread expecting to see a shit-ton of "he's old" "let the young guys have a chance" type posts

I get that they wanted to do the monday night war thing, but 1. Sting was never part of nWo black and white. 2. They could still have had the after match sequence whatever the result. |

Sting is tied with Piper as my all-time favorites, but at that stage in his career I didn’t need or want him to win the WWE championship. But I did want another United States Championship run. Having him beat Triple H would have been nice without the NWO/DX run ins.

As a huge Sting fan, this pains me to know now Don't worry, he was never supposed to win the belt. Those are just replica sideplates from WWEShop. They also have ones for Warrior, Macho Man, Undertaker, Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels....none of them are winning the belt, either. They also have sideplates that say DX and nWo. It's just merch. |
