Such a joke. It’s because of “Repetative matches, and slow ticket sales” LMAO no chit. The Bar has literally been having tag team matches with Seth Rollins since August... 7 months of the same feud that has 0 depth and 0 payoff/gimmick matches... EXCITING!! not only that, they would have rematch’s on Raw so why on earth would people go to more expensive PPV’s when they can watch the match for free on TV?! The same with just about every other feud this past year. It’s honestly astounding how bad the writing/booking was in 2017 compared to 2016 when they first split the shows.

That’s the biggest problem with WWE at the moment. The same matches week in and out. Match on raw, mAtch on raw, PPV big hyped matches, but oh rematch on raw the next night. It’s horrible. I wouldn’t want to pay to go to a glorified raw or Smackdown either

This happened in 2007 too, and it hurt a lot of the talent on getting a PPV match.
There will never be a Breezango, Zack Ryder, Goldust, Bo Dallas, The Revival or any guys that fit in that spot on a PPV again. Hell, they have a hard time getting on a PPV now with their own shows!

Is this official or are you speculating?
If it’s real does that mean they’re going back to one a month too? That would be awesome. The product is overexposed and it seems like every show the production team finds ways to make the show even harder to watch. Last night they literally replayed that Nia Jax promo just so they can add those stupid Expedition Unknown caption graphics.

Looks like by 2019 they will be back to one a month and possibly 4 hours long.

This isn't officially confirmed (Meltzer is "waiting on confirmation from WWE") but it certainly seems like something they'd do. This appears to be a repeat of the last brand split at an accelerated pace. We'll probably be seeing Raw Supershows by the fall.
Based on the schedule, it makes sense, too. Smackdown would've have gone over four months without an exclusive show (May 27th - September 30th.)

I see no official confirmation of this, so I'm going to assume it's pure speculation.
Either way, assuming this would lead to ending the brand split, that would be a terrible idea in my opinion. Without a brand split, it's just way too overcrowded. They've got far too many superstars, and there are already enough that aren't being given the spotlight as it is. Ending the brand split would at least double that.
Even if this turns out to be true, I at least hope they'll continue with the brand split at the very least.

I would prefer they stay separate, but at the same time, I'm not going to lose sleep if they aren't.

ive been saying this crap all along, there is no need for 2 PPV events in a month.
have every PPV be 4 hours and both brands get basically 2hrs. its easy. then you can also alternate between closing shows....RAW gets one month SD the next. Pre-show gets 2 matches (one from each) and you can easily fit 4-5 matches plus hype stuff in 2 hours
it just makes sense. and they can keep the Big 4 at 5 hour events because they are the more important shows.

-- The moment they started cross-promoting, it instantly killed the "competitive vibe" between the 2 shows.
(this mix match crap doesn't help matters any either).

It should help, at least a little. Less is more. WWE TV shows are deadly boring right now, and the PPVs are ponderous, too. Outside of AJ Styles, I have much more interest in Brian Cage's Impact debut than anything on WWE TV.

I prefer having one dual branded pay per view each month, but keep the brands and rosters separate. If I go a step further, I’d like to see every pay per view using the Night Of Champions format. Each pay per view should have 9 Championship Title matches. This will drive ticket sales up, for the simple fact that every time you go to a pay per view, you know you’re going to see 9 Championship Title matches. So if you’re a Champion or a challenger, then you’re on the Sunday show. If not, then you’re not. They can solve personal feuds on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I would prefer they stay separate, but at the same time, I'm not going to lose sleep if they aren't. Me neither, I’m not sure why so many people are butt hurt over this 🤔 Besides, is there anything official stating this other than Ticketmaster advertising Backlash as being dual-branded?

Brand splits are great for traveling and house shows but its awful for tv & ppvs. I can only watch the same ol crap so many times before i look for something else to watch.

Well, that's another nail in the coffin of the brand split.

There is zero point in having a brand split anymore. IDK why they keep trying. WWE is so unwatchable right now its not even funny anymore. Cant even remember the last time i sat through a whole show. WWE just doesnt have the talent to draw enough interest for 2 separate shows. If the brand split didnt work in 2002 long term, then this brand split has zero chance.

Good! It’s way too heavy in content for the average fan to watch all raw, all sd, and then two ppvs a month. Especially with today’s skim through generation.
