I know it's probably not my place to speak, seeing as I make up stories about fake wrestlers on the internet for fun, but today, I learned what the "Overwatch League" is, why it's been popping up everywhere I turn this week, and that right now thousands of people are sitting in the Barclays Center watching this sh*t like it's a spectator sport and it made me so irrationally angry. I used to think that nothing could be worse than that phase my dad went through where he'd watch other people play poker on television. This is so, so much worse. That s*** is being shown on TWO TV networks tonight. Esports are taking over the damn world. I tried watching once out of boredom but didn't get the appeal. Maybe it's 'cuz I'm old and games like Galaga and Tempest are more my speed. I couldn't follow jack bleeping bleep that happened. It was worse than watching hockey and trying to follow the puck. I mean...there's a reason I wasn't paying much mind to WF this weekend...   Real question... why would you pay to watch this live rather than watch it for free via the internet? |

I mean...there's a reason I wasn't paying much mind to WF this weekend... Real question... why would you pay to watch this live rather than watch it for free via the internet? Same reason you pay to see a wrestling show or a baseball game. Entertainment, and more so, atmosphere. |

Esports are super jojo, as Konnan would say. While the gameplay can be pretty impressive at times, the commentary is usually pretty subpar and they sound like robots half the time. As a wrestling fan, I'm spoiled by hearing actual good commentary. The players themselves are also super awkward as hell. It's probably just me but a little trash talk never hurt anyone. I don't know - I never got the appeal of them either and I'm more or less part of the demographic that enjoys them.

Nobody wants to be the heel because that means less Twitch subs. Esports needs a Conor McGregor type who knows they are good and use that character to make things interesting. That'd be Dr. Disrespect. He's the closest to heel that site allows. |

My youngest son is into this stuff and has been glued to the television. I don't get the appeal of it but the money in esports is insane. It is going to rival the NBA and NFL before too long.

And that's not even taking into account teams and the players salaries. |

I guess the point I was trying to make was having a heel team would be something interesting rather than just one guy. The last time I watched Doc, H1Z1: King of the Kill was still a thing, haha I'm not a big Ninja fan either. I dunno.
Nowadays, I prefer watching the irl streams, like Uber drivers livestreaming their rides or my personal favorite, the creative channel. As somebody that attempts on being artsy, I like watching other artists at work.
The only streamers I still follow to this day are Maximilian Dood and johnwolfelive. |

Accounts such as Steam, my bank account, and my PS4 account have all been compromised and it is the biggest pain in my arse in trying to undo the damage. The hack stems from my dad's e-mail, which also spread to his Amazon account and his work accounts (luckily, my W-Figs account is linked to my own email). It's absolutely awful, especially the feeling of being locked out of a bank account you worked tirelessly for.
