Far Cry 5

Finished the game with Cameron Stone so spoilers ahead. But before the ending, I'll be posting links to clips from the insanity of our playthrough for your enjoyment. A tag for adzy too so we can talk.





I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Cheeseburger is the true savior. The repetitiveness of John and Jacob's hunts were kind of iffy but I can't complain too much. Faith was the best Seed for me, because you could truly understand her. The trippiness of Bliss aside, you knew what she was doing was total Stockholm Syndrome and by putting her out of her misery, you were doing her a favor. Did Jacob last...and was killing him SOOOOO satisfying. Cam literally Molotov Coctailed his dead body out of spite for both of us.

As for the endings, I liked both equally. The false ending with the radio was brilliant. I'm convinced the Sheriff was in on it after his time with Faith but what do I know? Good idea for an ending though because you don't know if the protag murders the whole truck or if they wind up going back to the church.

The true ending was also pretty good. The fight itself was weird, but the fallout...literally...was well done, and a nice twist. They don't tell you if Joseph knew about the bomb, if it was his and it was a backup plan for if you didn't retreat, or if he was monitoring the outside airwaves and knew of some kind of Army "if the Marshall doesn't come back, scorch the place" plan but I can't complain. The race to Dutch was intense, and the fade out was the best because, ya know, I'm a sucker for when the villains win because in stand alone games with no apparent sequel you don't see that too often. And in all of the false endings, and the true ending, Joseph wins regardless. There's no way around it. And I like it. No matter the path you take, Seed always wins by Hell or Highwater. There's a reason why I didn't complain about the Mass Effect 3 ending like everyone else in the world.

All in all, good game. Glad I bought it despite my distaste for Far Cry. The coop made it worth it. Definitely a game that's better with a friend, like A Way Out which is mandatory but still.
