UK?? I'm from the US. HAHA!! I think I knew that and forgot! 😂 You must have seen all kinds of toys in the shops over the years. Except Kinder Eggs 😆 I saw all kinds of toys!! If it wasn't for all of my Uncles and Aunts, I wouldn't have half the things I had. My parents only bought me the “big” parts of my collections, like the leaders of the Transformers sub-groups. For example, my parents got me Silverbolt of the Aerialbots, Hot Spot of the Protectobots, and Scattershot of the Technobots. So, I had to ask my Uncles and Aunts to get me the arm and leg parts for Superion, Defensor, and Computron respectively. My parents got me the Black Lion, so I had to get the Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow Lions from my Uncles and Aunts. My parents got me a G. I. Joe and Cobra base or a WWF ring, my Uncles and Aunts got me the figures. You get the idea.

I also never completed any Transformer sets! I just arm and leg pieces!

My Mom's mentality was, “if I’m going to waste money on toys, then I’m going to get you (me) the best / biggest part of the collections. Ask your Uncles and Aunts for the little parts.” It also help that I have a brother 3 years younger than me. If I got one, he got one, so imagine what our collective collections were like back then.

I went through a few obsessive phases until I got stranded in the most embarrassing obsession of them all: wrestling Living in the UK I guess we didn't have great access to US toys, but they were my focus so I got what I could. IIRC it sort of went like this, starting in the mid-to-late 80s: -Transformers: only had a couple of these I think, mostly remember an awesome Optimus Prime -Ghostbusters: first real obsession; I had the four main characters, Ecto-1, the fire station, the yellow beetle, Slimer, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and a few other random characters -Batman: short-lived obsession this one, but had Batman, Robin, Joker, the Penguin and a few others, as well as the Batmobile, the Batwing and the Batcave (with the prison on the other side) -Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: had I lot of these, my favourite probably being this vehicle that fired pizzas at evildoers ...and finally started watching the WWF starting with This Tuesday in Texas in 1991. From there the Hasbros were (and still are) my obsession. I had two Galoob figures at the same time (Tom Zenk and Ron Simmons) but I didn't know who they were, just that they were wrestlers I could use as jobbers for my Hasbros. The Galoob ring was the first ring I had, before I got the Hasbro one with the soundbox, so I used the WCW one for cage matches. I never saw any LJN figures, but if I had then I'd still probably not been interested as the Hasbros were dominate in my world. I tried and tried to get as many Hasbros as I could but as the line went on they were declining and fewer stores were carrying them - I probably had the second biggest collection behind this one rich kid friend of mine who had everything imaginable, and most annoyingly of all he was a really nice and fun guy so I couldn't even hate him. I then began collecting the Hasbros MOC in late 1997 once I discovered eBay. I never liked the Jakks figures, but when stores started carrying them here in 1999 then I bought a lot of them to keep MOC, because obviously the Jakks figures would increase in value in the exact same way the Hasbros had already done at that time... It was also easier to buy Jakks in stores then it was to buy Hasbros from eBay (though I did buy plenty of them as well), so now I have boxes of Jakks and WCW Toybiz figures that aren't worth what I paid for them back then, while the Hasbros are still increasing in value seemingly everyday.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the first figures I remember collectiong but then I moved onto what got me into loving action figures.
Toybiz X-Men and Spider-Man figures based on the animated shows from 90s. They were just amazing.

It's crazy to see how much you lot collect. I didn't collect too much in toys WWE: Collected a lot of Jakks and now Mattel. Starting to cut back on Figures a bit though Robot Wars: I had almost every mini bot other than Gemini and I had a few of the bigger toys and a remote controlled one (forget who) Micro Starz: I used to have hundreds of these

I always liked that one.

I didn't have many big interests outside of wrestling as a kid, wrestling has always been the one constant. At other times I had passing interests in and have toys from the following
Action Man Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Biker Mice from Mars Little Dracula
I've always loved Lego but never really been a big collector which may come as a surprise. I enjoy the minifigures more than anything.
Got into Star Wars at about 10 having watched the video release of Episode 1. Bought loads of Episode 1 figures from a shop in town that mainly sold plastic storage boxes, rubbishy tat and cheap Star Wars figures.
I was given a load of GI Joes but I had no interest in the line itself, just that they made for excellent wrestling figures due to the articulation.
Had a couple of Playmobil bits...
That's all that's coming to mind right now.

Did any other 90s kids collect the monster wrestlers and ninjas that came with Kelloggs cereals? As I recall if you collected so many tokens and sent in 50p, you'd get a special edition figure.
There was even a Tony the Tiger referee / physio / trainer or some gimmick

Must have had them all, think they're in the loft.
I miss cereal being fun.
Even the mad scientist got dropped from Weetos.

Hmm........I don’t really remember these specifically, althought the blue guy and the jester seem vaguely familiar. Only time I ever sent off for something from cereal was to get some aeroplanes and a model airfield from Kelloggs.

He-Man Thundercats Transformers MASK Visionaries Bravestarr Insectoids (I think - got loads one Christmas from a warehouse) Bionic Six (got them all from a Crash Bang Wallop, great times) Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Ghostbusters WWF Bravestarr was a great set of toys, taller than average at around 8" tall and featured a bipedal gun toting horse. Amazing. Was gutted that it was not popular enough for a second series of toys.
