When getting a figure, or even an 8x10, autographed, what brand of paint pen do you recommend? Where do you get them? How fast does the signature dry?

Either sharpie or Deco brand. Those are the two best from all I have read and seen

Nothing special about an 8x10 photo paper, unless it's glossy, then you may want to choose something else. For figures, I get all mine signed in DecoColor Broad Point Paint Markers, unless the wrestler provides their own paint marker, like Jerry Lawler did, so I trusted his judgement over mine, and it came out great. Or if someone like a D-Von who quickly signed with a silver sharpie. You can see how mine turn out at this link forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/327361/collection-signed-mattel-mocsI either get my markers from an ebay seller who ships fast, or if I'm in a city where there is an big art supply store, I'll go there, because Michaels and Hobby Lobby do not carry the broad tip markers, just the Fine tip. I put all my figures in Defender Cases, but I usually wait a few days to make sure they're very dry. If I'm not in a rush, I might let it sit in a Container Store shoe box for a week before putting it into a Defender Case.

Oil based sharpie paint pens on figures. I been using them for years. Never had a problem. I get them from Michaels.

If it's styrofoam, a sharpie would be enough for that. I use paint markers on plastic because if a sharpie isn't wet enough, it will come out very dry and not good at all.
