KB Toys was overpriced and never had anything in stock except STOMP and KB exclusives ( Yoko, 3 Faces of Foley). KB was straight garbage.

That may have been yours in particular, but the one here in Jacksonville was always stacked with new figures. Their prices were only $2 above Walmart, and the WWE selection was from floor to ceiling and about 6-7 pegs wide.

I bought the majority of my RA and CS collection from KB, but they always seemed to be 2 weeks behind TRU, which wasn't too bad.

Every time I went there was a massive disappointment. I remember they had a bin full of Jaguar video game consoles for $35 one day. That was their extent of interesting items. I think I wrote them off altogether by 2000.

I used to get all the toymakers big wcw rubber figs (like ljn) there. and usually at 3.99 each! thy always had good stock and lots of things on sale that i wanted. I loved the Lex Luger from that line, I remember seeing "Heels" on the card and thinking, "Wtf does that mean?". I also loved KB for the BCA Backlash line with that sweet Triple H that Mattel has yet to make a version of, they also had nice rerelease lines of Marvel Universe 5 and 10 inch figures and Power Rangers. Maybe with Hasbro's take on MMPR and KB coming back, I can walk into a wall of MMPR(and aliens) figures at a KB Toys once again like the olden days. I remember not liking them towards the end though, like I'd look for Classic Superstars or Marvel Legends and walk out empty-handed. I've been wondering all day about what kind of stuff would they carry in this day age, like are there any failed toylines from a decade ago that will show up, like the Ronin Warriors? Will they bring back the Awesome Arm?

I think I wrote them off altogether by 2000. Lol, they did well after 2000 man. Star Wars Episode 1 merchandise really hurt them though. I remember bins full of figures for $1. Yes in the 90’s it wasn’t all that great. They were stocked with very old merchandise. I remember buying Kenner Aliens, Predators, and Skeleton Warrior figures from playmate well into the late 90’s, nearly 8 years after their release. But, when Jakks had the Classic series, Adrenaline, and RA line going KB had rows of stock, and were always up to date. RA was $12 compared to Walmarts $9, CS as $14 compared to Walmarts $12, and Adrenaline was $22 compared to Walmarts $18. The best part of my KB was they stayed away from junk and clutter toys. So the boys aisle was full of all the hottest trend toys from Hasbro, ToyBiz, McFarlane, etc. towards the later years they got into the cheap junk toys that cluttered aisles like train sets, knock off GI Joes, etc.

If you’ve ever been to a TRU Express inside a mall, that’s what KB was but with more stock. Times have changed and so have prices. Hopefully they can succeed.

The first time I ever found RealScan figures in-person was at KB. It was Double Slam 4 minus the Hardyz. Not long after that, TTL4. Seeing them in person blew me away. Those were both fantastic sets, too. I still remember seeing that bright blue Smackdown packaging walking right into KB. They had them displayed on an endcap as well as in the actual wrestling aisle (yes, we used to have AISLES just for wrestling figures in the attitude era haha).
I seriously hope this works out for KB.

Regarding KB, I remember the Hasbro 3/$10 bin. I also remember the Draft limited edition figures there and the CS FIGURES. Great memories.
For TRU, my memories are mostly Hasbro and CS. I’ve had very few purchases at TRU over the past 8 years, but they were the Hasbro headquarters!

We had a bunch of KB Toy Works that I rushed to every week for brand new product. Good promos sometimes too. Investing in a mall store in 2018 doesn't make much sense though. Brick and mortal has had its time in the sun.

My KB was right across the street from TRU so I spent quite a lot of time in both as a kid. Oddly though the only two things I can remember my parents buying me at KB was the Virtual Boy and the Dragonzord that came with Tommy. I can't remember ever buying any wrestlers there but I know I probably did get some BCA stuff.

Looks like they’ll be closing at the end of June. Right now the entire store is up to 30% off but not everything in the store is 30% off as you can tell by the price on the scanner

Wait, when were you all going and finding all this great crap? Every KB I went to in the 90's never had crap. You were def.missing out. My KB both in Media and Springfield PA malls hardly ever let me down. In a lot of cases they got new stuff before even Toys R Us for me. In the Springfield Mall that's still standing, my old favorite KB is now a rug store. However they still have the big column motifs outside. It still pains me every time to have to walk past it lol.

I recall it being mostly full of El Matadors although my brother got a purple Brutus Beefcake...He also found a Roddy Piper on clearance at Brendles around the same time...

KB was and always will be my favorite toys store. There was no toys r us within 3 hours drive of where I grew up, but about an hour away in 2 directions there was a KB. Both always seem well stocked. I remember walls of Ghost busters and G.I.JOE in the 80's. Massive sections for Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers and X-MEN in the early 90's. A seemingly endless wall of Wrestling figures in the late 90's and early 2000's. Not to mention they were a great place to see lines no one else carried! Defenders of the universe, Voltron, Battle Beasts, C.O.P.S, Bucky Ohare, Toxic Crusader, those late 90's toybiz video game figure lines, and all the great stuff from Resaurus, and the list goes on! And they always had newer stuff before Walmart, which was my only option at that time after Roses and K-Mart closed.
I still remember the day I walked in and saw the first real scan figures from Jakks. I was blown away! I got the Undertaker and Edge and Christian 2 pack. I couldn't stop staring at those head scans. I have a lot of great memories of that store! Hopefully now my Daughter will have a chance to make some great ones there too!
