I have this bad habit of constantly buying figures despite the fact i have no room for them at the moment, so all they do is pile up on my desk. But that won't stop me from getting new or old figures i like. Now i can add 2 more Hardy figures and an AJ Styles to the pile, i already had the E57 Jeff but decided to throw a top on him and put him in my 2006/2007 collection, so i got another one to go with E58 Matt. Since i bought the club earlier, i figured i'd get a Styles figure as well in this order since i'm a fan of him and don't have a figure yet. With 3 Seth Rollins Elites and hopefully 2 more soon, i don't know how i'm going to have any room for them.
Matt Hardy Elite 58 is yet another great Hardy figure, the new head looks great and the green pants stand out really well. The gold and black designs also help it stand out and overall it's a near perfect figure. The only downside to this figure is that his hair blocks the E57 Jeff shirt when trying to put it on, it would've been great if they threw in one that could fit Matt instead of the Raw Tag Title but it's still a great figure.
I've already reviewed this Jeff in a previous thread but in short, it's a great figure with loads of detail and fits perfectly with Matt. (Here's the old pic of E57 Jeff)
Now here's where i've got an issue, while this AJ wasn't a massive want for me i was still excited to get it since it was my first AJ figure, but i can easily say this is the worst figure i've even bought. While the figure looks 'phenomenal' it's the articulation and joints that killed it for me. I got him out of the box and noticed the usual Mattel trend with most recent figures of extremely stiff joints, all previous figures i've had with this issue i've been able to loosen them up with a bit of movement but this Styles would not budge. His right arm was stiff but i got it loosened a bit, his left arm however seemed glued in place, i'd try and move it but all that would happen is his bicep would almost snap off and the only way to get it to move was bending the ab crunch, whenever i did that the arm would kind of spring up like those old Flex Force figures. So when i bent the ab crunch and tried to move the arm, it basically popped itself and now the arm is EXTREMELY loose, by that i mean it's like that old Jakks figure you played to hell with when you were young and now you can spin the arm 360 with a flick of the finger. It's impossible to pose that arm because it will just fall down.
Another joint issue is the typical frozen ankle joint, which in most cases doesn't bother me because the feet are frozen in a good and normal position, however this time, AJ's right foot is completely locked in place as seen in the picture. For such a 'Phenomenal' looking figure, the joints are horrendous, i'm going to assume not all of these AJ's are like this and that i just got the crap one out of the bunch but still, for 2018 Mattel standards this is pretty poor. Now i'm not someone who likes to cause issues and deal with the whole refund or replacement process, so i was just going to get another one from Ringside only to find out they're out of stock which is disappointing. Hopefully one day i'll get it again and it won't be as bad as this or maybe i'll get the Network Spotlight or a new Elite in future.
To end on a positive note, here are some pics of the two great Hardy figures, Thanks for looking.
