He was the glue that held Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine together. He was so over the top too. I remember renting WWF Even More Unusual Matches, and Johnny V and Craig DeGeorge were the hosts, and Johnny was such a character.
I also remember watching his HOF speech with Handsome Jimmy Valiant and Johnny was so soft spoken and wasn't in character whatsoever for it. It was kind of disappointing in a way.
But I did enjoy watching the British Bulldogs and Capt. Lou Albano vs. The Dream Team and Johnny V in six man tag matches back in 1986.
RIP "Luscious" Johnny V!

Terrible way to go.
I did hear that he had a stand up career after he left the wrestling business. He seemed like a guy that could make people laugh.

I also remember watching his HOF speech with Handsome Jimmy Valiant and Johnny was so soft spoken and wasn't in character whatsoever for it. It was kind of disappointing in a way. I am friends with Jimmy Valiant so got to spend some time with Johnny at two different autograph signings. Johnny was a good many and very humble, quiet and shy. You would never know he was a celebrity based on speaking with him. One of Jimmy Valiant's custom career DVDs had the induction speech on it and you could tell how humbled Johnny was by the honor. He was one of the first few year inductees so you know how important he and Jimmy were to WWF and the McMahon family. Sitting next to Johnny at one of the autograph shows, I heard some of his comedy and he was definitely a talented guy. I have several good friends affected by Johnny's sudden death and while I didn't know him personally like those friends, in the time I spent with him he gave me memories that will last my entire life.
