Not sure exactly where to post this, but sometimes the customs board here is a ghost town, people will go days sometimes weeks without posting anything, fixups seem to have something new everyday, why does customs have its own board but fixups have a post in mattel figure fourm? fixups seem to be way more popular, or why ain’t fixups allowed in customs board? Sometimes a persons fixup can go pages behind pretty quickly where nobody can see, can we get a fixups fourm or can we just post fixups in he customs board so that people have a chance to see others work properly, please anyone that agrees reply, and hopefully we can get this changed, thanks guys

This has been brought up many times. It’s a grey area, where a fix up thread can work in either board.
Fix ups mainly consist of swapped parts, which to me doesn’t justify the title of custom.

This has been changed already once and the majority of people didnt like the change, most are happy with where it is.

I always forget to check the fix up thread and would love it if they were allowed in here personally.

I'm sure we used to have a fix up sub board?

Back in the day people used to get flack for posting fix ups in the customs board as they weren't true customs. That was the attitude then but the customs board used to be hot. Now we're flipped the other way all these years later.

With the exception of when the Fix-Up thread was moved to the customs board at the complaining of 1/11000 members, the fix-up thread has NEVER been in the Customs board. It wasnt originally created in the customs board and never intended to be in the customs board. Also the thriving source of the fixup thread was Dean & his decals as he was, well, fixing up a new figure literally daily.

I wouldn’t want the fix up thread packed up and moved I just would Like to see threads for fix ups allowed somewhere. I’m no customizer but if someone can use parts to make for example a tommy dreamer figure or a Steve Blackman I’d love to see it. Having to wade through a 500+ page thread isn’t ideal in my opinion. If I saw a thread with pics and a formula I’d definitely look and comment.

You could always google what your looking for , it usually brings up wfigs pages.
Google mattel custom steve blackman and it should bring up stuff. Its easy peasy and then everybodys happy, if other people could have done that before it would have caused a lot less drama
Also i remember before some people would post their fix ups both in the fix up board and here and they would get told they were spamming etc, u win some, u lose some . Try google and check the fix up thread often

I think you’ll also find that customizers now post here and in the fix up thread as this place is so dead, so the problem has just changed side really.

The thing i think people like about it is A: its right there in the mattel board and you can see when its updated when your checking mattel posts B: its only mattel figures and C: its an easy going space for the most part besides a few bad apples here and there, its a pretty positive space without all the 'you cant post that here' stuff. Even if they allowed fix ups back in the customs board , i doubt enough people would start using it. All the customs board rules worked against its own popularity. Id suggest just bookmarking the fix up thread and checking it every now and then. I dont think it moves more than 6-8 pages per week so it wouldnt be hard to stay caught up

Can’t understand how either of those is the best solution. Just my opinion.

No offense taken
I dont see why they dont allow fix ups in the customs board to be honest but the fix up thread is clearly in the right spot with how many views it has. I dont know if there is a "solution" , 99% of people like the fix up thread in the mattel board. Theres a lot of support there for new members who want to do fix ups and it focuses on the current wwe product out now
Im just saying the best thing to do would be to keep checking in at the fix up thread and like others said, google or the search feauture here works pretty well for finding specific fix ups that you are looking for

For as long as I remember a fix up was a simple parts swap, a custom was painted or sculpted decals etc the fix up threat is mostly customs. But I'm not a mod and I dont think it really matters hell group customs and fix up as "original works" and merge them.
Customs board is deader than the dodo, but it doesn't bother me where they get posted. I rarely check this section now cause everything goes in the fix up thread.
Edit: just noticed theres a lot of threads here that should be in one of the customs sub boards so that goes to show juat how unkempt this area of the site is
