Why didn't the 2 have ppv match after Strike Force split up? I remember they had few matches but not ppv they should had a match ppv at Summer Slam 89 instead the 6 man tag match

They were going to have a match at SSlam 90 but on TV right before the event they said Martel couldn't make the show because of a ''fashion show in Paris''. In reality though he was injured.

I know right, you'd think after having the split at WrestleMania of all shows, they'd at least follow it up with a one on one PPV match.

They feuded on and off from Spring 89 until Fall of 90 in which they finally ended the feud in a match on an episode of challenge prior to SSeries.

I haven't seen a lot of TV from that time period as it was a few years before I was born though my uncle was a fan and he taped most of the PPVs and eventually passed them onto me when I started to watch wrestling. I do recall them being on opposing teams at Survivor Series 1989 - it baffles me that they went with Koko vs Martel and Barbarian vs Tito at Mania 6 rather than a solid 10-15 minute singles match between the 2.

They tried to put so many feuds into one at SummerSlam 89. They had Martel/Rougeaus vs. Santana/Rockers. I guess that is good enough for the feud to be on a PPV, a six man tag.

I always thought it was funny they never had a proper feud but 5-8 years down the road both would pop up in a battle royal or royal rumble and they'd always go at each other.

Yeah WM 6 would've been ideal to end the feud.

Yeah I always thought the same. Being younger then I thought they legitimately hated each other because of the WM5 issue ha ha

Yeah, this is basically what I was going to say. It seemed like for years everytime Tito would enter a Rumble or battle Royal he would go right after Martel. I felt sorry for Tito. It's like he never had anyone else to feud with after Martel.

I believe their feud carried over into IWCCW too. Because I am pretty sure I remember reading in the old PWI Magazines that Tito vs. Rick happened at those shows.

Martel needs to go in the WWE HOF ASAP. Tito can induct em and hell maybe we can hear this gem one more time...

Or hopefully hear the ultra rare instrumental version of the song. That would be even better. 😊

Hey had a bout on snme...
At that time , most of the feuds were for the house shows, this is where the money were. Just look some cards of summerslam, and most of the bouts are not what the feuds were at the time.
Like rude vs snake, dusty vs boss, snuka vs honky, etc...
