Torre's arguing with the ump seemed almost like forced anger to try and prove he can actually show fire. I mean, it was a horrible call, but it's 9-3.

I actually gained an ounce of respect for Torre to even argue that call. Umpires have been ing the Yankees out of blantaly obvious calls for relatively the entire season...calls like the one tonight have been just ridiculous.

Todd Jones is imploding as we speak. Way better than this Sox/Yankees snoozefest.

Does anyone know what exactly set off the Barrett/ Zambrano fight? I tuned into the game in the 8th inning and they showed highlights of it. They said during the Yankees game that the fight actually spilled into the clubhouse, too...

Does anyone know what exactly set off the Barrett/ Zambrano fight? I tuned into the game in the 8th inning and they showed highlights of it. They said during the Yankees game that the fight actually spilled into the clubhouse, too... Barrett missed a pitch, and in his attempt to recover and throw out to third, completely overthrew it, allowing more runs to score. Zambrano confronted him in the dugout after the inning and pretty much was telling Barrett to 'get your head in the game' which is when Barrett pointed to the scoreboard and apparently said something about the amount of hits Zambrano had given up. This set off Zambrano leading to the fight. During the postgame press conference, it was confirmed that the fight did break out again in the clubhouse, leading to Lou telling both to go home. Barrett reportedly suffered a cut on his lip.

Kevin Youkilis needs to calm the down, there is NO WAY Scott Proctor is throwing at him in that situation. Why the would they throw at Youkilis with ONE out in the middle of a count in a 9-3 ballgame? Why would he not wait until there are TWO outs and hit Ortiz? And either way, i could care less, because the Red Sox ALWAYS hit Yankees, they always hit our guys and its ALWAYS on purpose and we NEVER do anything. You NEVER see the Yankees throwing up and in, knocking guys down, brushing guys back and moving people off the plate. So I'm not saying he DID or he DIDN'T, but if Scott Proctor threw at Kevin Youkilis then I AM GLAS HE DID, because more than enough of our guys have gotten hit over the years and more than enough of our guys have gotten hit TONIGHT that SOMEBODY in a Red Sox uniform needed to eat some dirt tonight.

Michael Kay is such a douche. He's going on and on about how Youkillis could have died (literally, he said the word "died"), yet he's the same guy who criticizes the Yankees for not brushing Manny and Ortiz off the plate.
Proctor's got balls and protects his team. I love it. It's about time someone on this team makes the opposing team think that he'll come inside on them.
On another note, Donnie Baseball almost killed any hope of managing this team next year within a span of 2/3 of an inning.

Yeah it was 9-3 and it seems crazy to use Mo, but in reality, what the hell are we saving him for? The next 2 games might be blow outs either way and he might not get a chance to pitch. The way I see it, Torre would have probably stayed with Villone or messed around with that LOSER Luis Vizcaino and end up losing the game....in my opinion, you gotta do what you gotta do to WIN TODAY. Don't not use a guy because you MIGHT need to use him tomorrow, because that situation might not even come up tomorrow.

Screw that guys.... Proctor threw directly at his face and with his rep I don't even care if it was intentional or not.
It was a horrible moment. It fired Boston up for tomorrow, and Youkilis is a hot bat as it is and they will want to protect him. Plus, Michael Kay might be a dweek but he's right, he coulda possibly died. Highly unlikely and not really worth mentioning on air to stir the situation but overall it was a bad moment.
Intentional or not, it was a bad moment for the Yankees.
I love that Proctor protects our batters and he's a no nonsense kinda guy but over the shoulders is not cool in any situation.

that and the Red Sox You guys think its so funny when Yankees players get hit and get hurt but you can't handle it when we hit some of your guys. Well, tough sh*t....that's life.....don't do it to other people if you can't handle it getting done for you. GOOD FOR SCOTT PROCTOR. I hope he did it on purpose....I just wish he had gotten out Youlilis and done it to Ortiz or Manny. Red Sox and their fans are going to do nothing but whiiiiiiine now, we'll never here the end of this.....the yankees/Red Sox hit batsmen record over the years is like 5/1241254124124....let's make a big deal about the one time that WE did it. Come on guys.......grow up
