in 1998, if all wrestling ppvs were going 4 hours i’d think it would risk overkilling it and having excessive content. in 2018, while wwe’s popularity diminishes, it’s frankly an absurd move from my perspective.
must make business sense for them to do it though.

Which now means that Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series will be 5 hours with a 2 hour pre-show making it in total 7 hours.....
and Wrestlemania to be a 3 hour pre-show with a 7 hour show, thus making it 10 hours!!

An extra hour sounds unbearable with how bad PPVs have been lately 😩

Waaaay too much content. With Smackdown going to 3 hour soon and the PPV's being like as long as an entire workday......the people are going to be burned out.
This is going to lead to a lot of dead crowds during main events.

I'm always for more wrestling.
They have to make them longer with all PPVs being dual-branded. There's too big a roster to try and get everyone on a 3 hour show. I knew it would happen when they announced both brands on all PPVs.

I’m ok with it, but I hope my WiFi isn’t ed up anymore once that starts (we’ll after MITB cause I’m going to that) cause it took over 4 hours to watch backlash cause of my crapty WiFi. So a 4 hour pop would probably take like 6 I wonder if the big 4 will be 5 now. (crap mania was like 6 this year. They might as well Atleast announce them to be 5 hours long)

Just out of curiosity, anyone here...do other things? I feel like it's taboo to sometimes talk about what you like aside from wrestling when amongst wrestling fans (especially amongst WWE hardcore fans, even some wrestlers and employees that I've seen and known) so it's challenging to really be open about how much is too much.
But for me, this pretty much looks like it would set up a hardcore WWE fan to do pretty much nothing else with their time and to fully indulge? Not so bad for them, extremely challenging for the rest of us.
I'm curious to find out who balances their time and in what way with where the product currently stands (which for me is already way too involved so I am mostly disconnected).

I balance watching WWE with working most of my waking hours by recording and watching it over the course of the week.

Yeah, I usually never sit down and watch a whole RAW/SD live. My fiance and I watch other shows and we just got a dog, so my time is limited. BUT, my buddy and I do watch every PPV because its only once a month, so thats a positive.

Not surprised at all. At least more talent will make the cards, especially the mid card / lower card guys.

Are they just determined to lose people? Up until the last year I always thought I’d be watching wrestling forever. Now I don’t have a problem missing it.

If extra PPV time led to an improved product then I would be all for it, but thats not gonna be the case
Some 3 hour PPVs are a chore to watch these days
