And they're paying me for it!
Basically, I work for 5 Star Staff, an "Event Services" company in Houston, Texas. They work all the big locations: lots of clubs, Verizon Wireless Theater, Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center. Business has been really slow lately, since the Toyota Center is off-limits to anyone without a security license and I'm working on getting mine.
I've worked Verizon Wireless twice before, and once at a gay concert (picture 2,500 flaming homosexuals and a gay rock band, and you've got the idea). So, I kept getting bummed when I couldn't get scheduled for the venue when they had acts like Fergie and Weird Al Yankovic roll through.
But today, I called in for my scheduling and got booked to work Verizon on Saturday. I look up their event calender and it says "Extreme Fighting". A little search in Google turns up this:

Renegades Extreme Fighting, Houston's own mixed martial arts show, returns to the Verizon Wireless Theater with another night of action on Saturday, June 15th at 8 PM !
Filled with talent from Texas, the Renegades card features 3 4-man tournaments and one heavyweight Superfight. The 10 scheduled bouts promise an action-filled evening showcasing some of the best up and comers in the state and surrounding area. Past stars who have showcased their talents in the Renegades ring include UFC veteran Yves Edwards and Muay Thai champion Pete "The Secret Weapon" Spratt.
The event will take place in the modern and spacious Verizon Wireless Theater, Houston's premier downtown entertainment venue. The Verizon Theater is located in the heart of the bustling Houston nightlife scene, the popular Bayou Place entertainment district. The theater is noted for its multilevel seating that affords great views from all over the venue.
Team Punishment in the house! Scheduled to appear are UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz and UFC/Pride veteran Ricco Rodriguez of Team Punishment, both will be on hand with plenty of posters and merchandise to autograph for the fans.
Don't miss this great opportunity to see a night filled with great fights, support the local Texas mixed martial arts scene, and meet Team Punishment's Tito Ortiz and Ricco Rodriguez to boot!

I've become a huge fan of MMA lately, and apparently these guys do great business as they've sold out the venue at least six times. This will be my first time at an MMA show, and I'm pretty stoked. Plus, they're paying me! Even though I'll probably be pulling "security guard" duty, there is a chance I could be an usher. Either way, I'll most likely get a great vantage point of the action. While I haven't heard of any of these guys before (except for big names like Ortiz and Rodriguez), I'm excited either way.
