It looks so incredible. I think The Last of Us is the best game released on PS3, and by extension skinned for PS4, and quite easily one of the best games I've ever played, period. I think this is going to deliver big and it looks to have the same engine and graphics they used for Uncharted 4. The transition from cut scenes to gameplay seems damn near flawless. I like that they're keeping a lid on Joel. Maybe he ends up being the DLC this time around since we'll seemingly be playing primarily with Ellie.
My only complaint is the release date. Like when is that happening? I'll be throwing money at this one. With this, RE2, Spider-man and whatever the hell Death Stranding is supposed to be, what an amazing 12 hours for PS fans.

It should be interesting to see Joel's fate. I remember, when the first trailer released, where she's playing the guitar, some speculated that Joel is actually dead, and when he comes into the room to talk with her, it's not really him there, but that's he's just in Ellie's head, like she can't let go of him, after his death. It amazed me, last night when I watched it, that there were people in the comments that complained about Ellie being a lesbian, that Naughty Dog was just bowing down to groups by doing it. Clearly, not actual fans of the series.

Clearly, not actual fans of the series. I think Joel is still alive, but barely. We're presuming there is a time jump yes? Even a few years, Joel is probably still alive but not for much longer. Either he's turning, and that's the big opener or he's just broken down and can't protect her anymore.

Clearly, not actual fans of the series. Yeah, she's been a lesbian since 2014 haha. I don't know how you can even appreciate the start of the video without knowing what Ellie is thinking, which is predicated on you knowing she likes girls. We know he's alive in the opening scene in Jackson from the "old man" comment. So I think the guitar scene we first saw might be towards the end of the game if Joel does end up dying. I don't think they're afraid to kill Joel but I hope they don't. I really do love that theory, though. Druckmann flat out says he loves to time hop in the story. So we could potentially see Joel die or taken as a hostage at the start and then go back in time and work our way towards his ending. Here is the E3 panel video:
