Lets see, all I said was that it was gaining steam, not that it was a done deal, and finally I agree with doing the deal. Of course McHale is going to say hes whoring Garnett out, dont ever believe any GM, let alone a terrible one like KG. Ainge is just as bad too so we shall see.
I am not the one who brought up AK, again, does not matter what Sloan thinks, the team is tired of him, the rumor has been floating around, plus he just signed a HUGE deal that the Celts could handle if Ratliff and or Wally were moved. Hes amazing but a little girl
I dont want Maggette unless its for something small and cheap.
Bibby is good as gone, expect him to be rocking a Cav's jersey unless Boykins joins him first. If any team right now offered the Kings a top 10 pick or something amazing, Artest would be outta there so fast.

Oh no Ralpho!
Wolves-Celtics trade talk? Garnett says forget it ESPN.com
Updated: June 21, 2007, 4:44 PM ET Comment Email Print If the Minnesota Timberwolves are listening to offers for Kevin Garnett, the player is trying to make their job easier.
Forget Boston, is the word from the star center.
Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan that Garnett made it known to the Wolves and Celtics late Wednesday that he had no interest in playing for Boston. The implication was clear: If Minnesota dealt him to Boston, Garnett would opt out of his contract next summer.
"The Boston trade isn't happening," Miller told Sheridan on Thursday. "If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing."
Asked where Garnett would prefer to be dealt, Miller replied: "Too early. Ask me in two days."
Garnett has "a good handle on the possibility of being traded," Miller said. "Kevin is an extremely loyal person, and loyalty is not a common factor among pro athletes, but in this situation he understands he has to put his long-term considerations ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves' long-term considerations."
Kevin McHale, the Timberwolves' vice president of basketball operations, has been pressed of late on Minnesota-Boston discussions over Garnett following Danny Ainge's admission to The Boston Herald that he has talked to McHale about Garnett.
"Who knows what's going to happen?" McHale told reporters Wednesday after the Wolves worked out college stars Jeff Green and Al Horford in preparation for the draft. "But we're not out there actively shopping Kevin Garnett around the NBA. I can tell you that much."
Because Garnett can opt out of his contract after next season, the Timberwolves run the risk of losing him without compensation if they don't trade him before then and he tires of not playing on a competitive team. That has ramped up speculation that he could be on the move, and the possible destinations are popping up all over the place as they always do this time of year.

If any team right now offered the Kings a top 10 pick or something amazing, Artest would be outta there so fast. You mentioned possible targets for the Celtics, including AK, Maggette and Artest. And, yeah, I think Sloan's input on the team would have some substance as he has been coaching the team for over 15 years and probably does speak often with the organization regarding who they should or shouldn't trade. No way in hell would Utah settle for some shitty deal of Ratliff and/or Wally for AK. He may have cried in the first round like a puss, but it was just a slump, and he picked it back up in the GS series. As for Sacramento's guys, like I said, if a good deal came across the table for Bibby or Artest, sure, they would go for it, but I haven't heard anything about Cleveland pursuing Bibby again this offseason. And man, boykins little ass lol I don't think Denver should've gotten rid of him for Blake, but it is what it is.

Come on Phoenix,
get another team involved, 3-way trade, and bring KG in for a 2008 Finals appearance.
I don't blame KG; why would he want to be traded to the East's Minnesota Timberwolves? Would've put him in an even deeper hole than he is in now.

They really do have to work out some kind of deal between Phx. and Min. to get KG with the Suns and Nash. If the Wolves want to show any appreciation at all to Garnett for all the loyalty he put into that team, then they should do him the favor by trading him to a championship caliber team.

KG will be in Minn til at least the trade deadline time. Why would McCale move him now? He's a fool and probably has some pipe dream of competing this year and pretty much making KG want to stay. His last resort is prob trade deadline this year before he can opt out.... hell it would be mine too if I had KG on my roster and all I was getting offers for were lottery picks that weren't Durant/Oden and other teams second best player or low caliber superstars who have done far less than KG. Honestly if I am the GM for the Wolves right now and I'm getting offers that are going to cause ticket sales to drop and overall piss my fans off (even if short term) and I have a chance to milk KG til the deadline (when it looks like I have no other choice), I'm riding KG out til the last resort. Lakers should to try get KG for Bynum, Odom and some more crap but it'll never, ever happen. Thus, Kobe should stay this year and hope he can get KG to sign there. If KG doesn't sign then Kobe has serious trade demand pull because his contract opt out will be approaching after that season, I believe. One more year in LA is not gonna hurt Kobe. He should see this as a chance to try and improve with the same tools... you know, maybe show he's a more than just an 81 point game overshadowing 2 first round exits while leading the league in scoring/shots attempted in double coverage? the NBA... it's like 90% mental problems with players.

If KG came here it wouldnt be the Minnesota of the East, because in Minnesota he had Ricky Davis, in Boston he'd have another superstar and an easier path to the finals

I agree, I can't see any blockbuster deals going down. There are so few teams that can house these players everything, that the giving ups just don't seem like they could match.
We'll wait and see.

Paul Pierce and KG wouldn't win an NBA Finals series, let alone an Eastern Conference Finals matchup.
I mean, people tend to forget that neither has done ANYTHING in their careers in regards to winning multiple playoff series and Finals appearances, which both have a combined number of 0 as things stand now. It's not worth it for Boston to dump a bunch of young talent for the possibility of two aging, underachieving veterans playing together with a depleted roster, hoping they can ride their big numbers each night to a playoff appearance, first round victory, and a return trip back home on vacation in a second round or, at best, conference finals defeat.
Besides, KG doesn't even WANT to play in Boston; if that's not enough for you, than I don't know what is.

Boston had a nice run at the start of the century with Walker and Pierce. They took it to New Jersey but eventually got left behind. Back then and right now the offense always ran through Paul Pierce taking shots off of scrappy offense. Back then if it wasn't him it was Walker throwing up some moronic shot that seemed like he was playing for the camera as well as the team. It was flash in the pan ball and Pierce has shown then and now that his attacking the basket and hand in his face jump shots haven't been able to carry that team. With another piece that is fairly fast and a good defender at the small forward, they could compete in the East. Especially considering that division.

Does anybody know if New Jersey is gonna strip off it's parts? Kidd, Carter leaving? NY Post has Nets GM Ed Stefanski saying the team is happy with its "Big 3" and how the season ended, despite the injuries to Krstic and Jefferson. NJ wants to work out a new contract with Carter and doesn't have anything in the works in regards to breaking up the main nucleus of the team.

I'd love to see Jersey compete, Jason Kidd is my favorite current player.

Javaris Crittenton, Acie Law, Jamon Gordon and Brandan Wright worked out for the Hawks in a closed-door session on Wednesday. All signs are now pointing to the Hawks either trading their No. 3 and 11 picks in an effort to avoid getting younger, or taking Al Horford at No. 3 and either Crittenton or Law with the 11th pick. "I think Acie is more of a scorer, more of a score-first/pass-second," coach Mike Woodson said after the workout. "Javaris is probably more of a distributor. Both have good size so they can defend at that spot. We need that. We struggled with that last year because of injuries to Speedy [Claxton] and [Tyronn] Lue. It just didn't enable us to have a point who could get up the floor and harass the other point guard." The rest of this year's draft somewhat hinges on what the Hawks do with the No. 3 pick, so stay tuned. Wright doesn't appear to be a real option for the Hawks.

I'd be all for trading the picks, if it were possible to get an impact player for them. I don't think we can, so I'd rather fill a position of need. Shit, take Conley and Crittenton for all I care, that's how bad we need a PG.

Knowing the Hawks and no offense TDub, they will take someone ing awful at #3 and totally mess the draft up for everyone, because now the Celtics are probably keeping the pick and being worse than the Bruins in terms of love in Boston
