Tonight on two seperate PPV's we get Kimbo Slice taking on former boxer Ray mercer, both making their MMA debuts inside a cage. Plus Strikeforce having Frank shamrock taking on Phil Baroni & quite a strong undercard as well. Then Saturday night we have TUF 5 finale, what a great weekend for MMA.
Also for those who don't visit the MMA sites Dana has confirmed that Shogun is now signed & will be making his debut at UFC 76, on the undercard apparently of Chuck Liddell vs. Vanderlei Silva!
Also Dana has mentioned in same interviews that he is very close to signing Fedor, if Couture gets by Gonzaga I'm calling Unification match between Couture & Fedor NYE Also Josh Barnett is in talks with UFC which is great news, However Sokoudjo coming off two huge 1st round KO's over Arona & Little Nog was offended by UFC's offer of $20K to fight with additional $20K if he wins so has signed with Elite XC After months of buying it, Zuffa finally have announced an upcoming Pride show on 18 Aug, however don't expect a typical Pride FC show as first most of the talent is signed to UFc but also this is being marketed as a Japanese all-star event so expect a card full of only Jap fighters, no doubt headlined by either Fujita or Hidehiko Yoshida. A crazy rumour was pointing to Bisping taking on the returning Ken Shamrock on the UFC 75 undercard now appears put to bed as UFC has confirmed he'll be taking on Hamil instead in what many are calling the true TUF 4 Finale.

Kimbo Slice taking on former boxer Ray mercer, both making their MMA debuts inside a cage. What a technical abortion this is going to be. LoL. Plus Strikeforce having Frank shamrock taking on Phil Baroni & quite a strong undercard as well. I'm excited for this one. I hope Baroni wins. Then Saturday night we have TUF 5 finale, what a great weekend for MMA. w00t BJ Penn. Also for those who don't visit the MMA sites Dana has confirmed that Shogun is now signed & will be making his debut at UFC 76, on the undercard apparently of Chuck Liddell vs. Vanderlei Silva! Yep. Silva/Liddell should finally happen. With Shogun coming to the UFC, the UFC's Light Heavyweight division is now, without question, the best in the world. Also Dana has mentioned in same interviews that he is very close to signing Fedor, if Couture gets by Gonzaga I'm calling Unification match between Couture & Fedor NYE Fedor should just be given the title .

I agree with this, despite his obvious skills I don't like/rate BJ. The guy has some of the best BJJ in the freaking world but never seemsto comein shape to use it to win. If ever a guy was about hype it's Penn, fans call him great but look at his record. Yeah I know he's fought World level fighters & out of his weight class but so have others.

If ever a guy was about hype it's Penn, fans call him great but look at his record. Wins over: - Matt Hughes - Matt Serra - Takanori Gomi - Renzo Gracie - Din Thomas - Caol Uno - Renzo Gracie - Matt Serra Losses to: - Matt Hughes - Georges St. Pierre - Jens Pulver - Ryoto Machida ... And the loss to St. Pierre was debatable. And as you mention, Machida was way over his weight class. How is Penn's record at all bad? Actually, he has one of the most intimidating records in MMA...

BJ Penn's last four fights he's got a record of 1.3 with the only win coming over Renzo Gracie who is hardly at the peak of his career. Hasn't fought at lightweight for four years, all the weight jumping he's done over the years plus the fact he must be seriously cutting weight could have a serious impact on this fight.
Anyway I don't want to argue, I just don't rate him, my view whilst yours is obviously different so let's leave it that.

Hasn't fought at lightweight for four years, all the weight jumping he's done over the years plus the fact he must be seriously cutting weight could have a serious impact on this fight. His last two fights were against two of the top three welterweights in the world. He lost a SPLIT decision to St. Pierre and DID knock out Hughes in the first round of their fight (though Hughes claimed Penn caught him with a thumb to the eye). The other was a ridiculous weight mismatch. I don't understand how BJ Penn can be discredited. He beat the **** out of Gomi in Gomi's prime. He beat Hughes in Hughes' prime.
