Some WWF events from late 80's to early 90's.

I did a quick search but no sign of an official release. The odd match may have appeared on compilation videos but not entirely sure. If you want to see them, it may be worthwhile noting all the matches and searching for them on YouTube individually if the whole events aren’t available.
They must have been great events in an era when squash marches were the order of the day
Also, quite interesting to note that the 1989 event was Tully Blanchard’s last match in the WWF

Funny you mention these as just a few days ago I was watching the 89 edition from my collection. I enjoyed these as they were a good preview to the main show.

To my knowledge they were never released commercially. Bootlegs were available during the tape trade days which is probably the source for all the stuff you see online today.

Summerslam did at roughly the same era as the survivor series showdown. As the focus for RR was on the rumble itself and not necessarily any feuds or grudges their wasn’t a show similar to the showdowns.
I seem to remember a few shows post WM8 that seemed to be a fallout of Wrestlemania, but think it was part of a European tour. The matches were on par with SNME with one or two possibly PPV quality (I remember the Undertaker facing Sid Justice, that with the right storyline would have been worthy of a place on one of the big four PPV’s)
The first KOTR PPV was in 93 and by then we had Monday Night Raw, giving us a few matches better than your average squash match, plus several qualifying matches leading up to it. Similar to the Rumble, the focus of KOTR was mainly the tournament, not the individual feuds of the time.
Again, I do think the showdown series was a great concept at the time, an event before an event if you will. Especially with the Survivor series, as you could have meaningful matches that enhanced the PPV, without screwy finishes for the sake of protecting the upcoming event

I still have a VHS copy of Survivor Series 1993 taped live from the night the show actually aired. The person who recorded it even included the hour-long preview show hosted by Todd Pettingill.
That is how I discovered these "Survivor Series Showdown" events even existed. They were previewing the Harts/Lawler match and showed footage of Bret taking on Yokozuna for the WWF title from some recent TV special earlier that week. Bret had Yoko in the Sharpshooter, Fuji interfered and when Owen came out to defend Bret he ended up accidentally getting Bret disqualified.
It was pretty cool to watch because I first started watching wrestling around that time and thought I'd seen everything from that era in the WWF. Since the product wasn't as oversaturated back then, these events were a great idea to help build up the hype and feuds for the actual PPVs. I hope they find their way onto the Network eventually.
