I wonder if Rowand has already bought a house in Chicago for next year? Or if hes just gonna wait its a shame too cause they love him like a native in philly greg golson needs to stop being a scrub in single-a and start becoming the poor man's felix pie that he was hyped up to be so he can become our CF

I wonder if Rowand has already bought a house in Chicago for next year? Or if hes just gonna wait I hope so... I hope to God so. Then we can rid ourselves of that huge mistake in Erstad.

Ryan Sweeney should be playing full time in CF to see if hes legit, not Darin Erstad

Yah I saw that, def not a good thing, guess he is going to get more rest down the stretch than usual yea, atleast it explains why his numbers are down this year. i wonder why this wasnt brought up in the offseason

His power numbers are down but his other stats are insane, I dunno why he didnt get it done. Kinda like Foulke in 2005 not wanting to get his knees scoped and cost him the year

I don't understand...Ortiz knew he had a torn meniscus in his knee since last summer, but never had it operated on? It only takes about a month of recovery if he would have just gotten surgery in the offseason. Even if it wasn't bothering him, I can't think of any logical reason as to why he wouldn't have had surgery this past offseason.
Dumb decision on his part.

Ryan Sweeney should be playing full time in CF to see if hes legit, not Darin Erstad Yeah we already tried that. And we are doing that right now with Owens. Plus Rowand is proven and he clearly wants to come back. So much that if you didn't know he was on the Phillies, and heard him talk, you would think he's on the Sox.

I can't believe that Roy Oswalt's name is popping up at all in trade rumors. Asia, are the Astros really that ing intellectually- disabled? Anyone that wants to over pay for a pitcher who has a small frame, crazy delivery, an injury waiting to happen, and is steadily declining can go right ahead. Sadly, the Astros would probably want Salty, Jo Jo and maybe Andrus or Escobar in return for a guy that's been declining. Also: Oswalt, Lance Berkman and Carlos Lee have no-trade clauses, and Purpura is unwilling to feed those guys to the sharks trying to pounce. "I made it very clear to people we have no interest in trading any of our long-term guys — Roy, Carlos and Lance," Purpura said. "They're the core of our club." With that said, Purpura would consider offers for some of his other players who have no-trade clauses. On that front, Lidge, Jason Jennings, Mark Loretta and Mike Lamb appear to have the most trade value. "It depends on the situation and depends on what the return will be," Purpura said. "We'll listen and we have been listening." Oswalt is planning on remaining with the Astros, who will begin a nine-game trip Friday with the start of a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. So it's pure speculation. I don't see the Stros dealing Oswalt, unless they're completely out of it. But he's still signed pretty cheap (compared to what some pitchers got with last years awful market.) So...don't read too much into it.

Get over it.
